I wonder if there are self-leveling compounds that would eliminate all the sanding? I like the gentleman's idea of blading the first coat then spraying a mixture of sandable primer and compound before final buff out.
I have a Graco 3900 GMax 2 (160cc Honda engine)....use it for level 5 and spraying mud on ceilings for stomp texture where I live...West Virginia....mud is gritty and will wear it out faster than paint...I bought the gas powered unit because a lot of the new construction homes here don't have electric service when the drywall is being done
Trust me put paint thinner in machine when you store it! The pump armor is mixed with water(corrosive) ruined my pump over time. Pump armor is good for 30 days. This is what I was told by SW spray machine mechanic when my pump was replaced
I am doing a home project and manually putting the mud on the walls gets exhausting and I don’t have any help. I am thinking this is the answer and will do the paint too!!
How many coats do you give the screws before doing the skim? We use to have that problem at times, so what we did was give to coats with the. Small nail spotter and then a third with the 3”. After we give a 4th coat by rolling it with a mini roller and wiping once with a 7” knife.
It can handle texture easy the only reason I don't like it because you need a separate air source and the rig is already kind of heavy to be carrying around a big compressor to keep up with the material flow from the 5.
There’s got to be a better way than spraying twice. Maybe use all purpose and turn the pressure down? Should be able to spray once, run a blade on it, let dry, sand. Without having to use Tuff Hide.
I just bought the Mark iv after watching your video. Do you remove the screen at the bottom of the pump when spraying mud? Do you think that using a skimming blade would save some sanding?
The Mirka made sanding the bulk of it easy and we leveled out all our joint before spraying so it worked out pretty good. The only set back was the screws shrinking so I think we will coat them with hot mud on the first see if it helps.
I didn.t think off of that. Ames need to set set up shop. Thanks for sharing your story about your journey to becoming licensed, youtube and buying the Mark 4. Keep up the good work
Thank you, man... for this great presentation. You just clarified lotta questions i had about. Its good to learn from someone with such experience.
No problem thanks for watching brother 🤙🏽
You got some time in that job, looks great inside and out . Great reviews of tools and products, thanks brother.

there are, look into sherwin williams "builders solution SURFACER"
I think running a wiping blade like a tomahawk over it would be helpful after spraying mud.

Sounds like a solid setup.
what tip do you use? thanks
I bought the Mirka drywall sanding system. I love it.
Awesome yeah sanding ceilings is a breeze with the Mirka.
I think the slower startup on that painter you mentioned is the ingress at start up, or something like that. great videos bud, thanks
Awesome Petter thanks for watching.
Wow the results are impressive
Thanks brother
Great detailed and informative review. Thanks!
Thanks for watching
Like a Boss!
Great camera work👍
Thanks brother
Hi is it possible to put the gun from the Graco Mark skim coating machine on the Graco r-tx machine?
Trust me put paint thinner in machine when you store it! The pump armor is mixed with water(corrosive) ruined my pump over time. Pump armor is good for 30 days. This is what I was told by SW spray machine mechanic when my pump was replaced
Thanks for the advice brother.
Not bad little unit to have and play with
What’s the name of that sanding machine

I think rolling on the mud and wiping it with a skiming blade would be a better fit.
@@csdrywallhawaii I will give that a try!!
What tips do you guys use to spray mud with the Mark V??? Just got mine today! Finally!
Congrats brother I pretty much just been using the one it came with.

3 coats but I think we're going 5o hotmud the first by hand moving forward to help eliminate the shrinking.
As always, great video! Have you ever used Tuff Surface Flat with this rig?
Thanks brother no we haven't
What spray tip are u using? I'm about to start a project using my mark v for the first time, but I don't have any tips.. thx 🍻
Thanks for watching brother its the regular spary tip it came with I haven't changed anything out.
Good info.tk
I just picked up a used mark 5 I was considering using it for orange peel texture as well, do you think it would turn out good?
It can handle texture easy the only reason I don't like it because you need a separate air source and the rig is already kind of heavy to be carrying around a big compressor to keep up with the material flow from the 5.
Excelente 👌
What pressure are you running the machine when spraying the joint compound. Cheers from New Zealand!
Run it at about 75%.
@@csdrywallhawaii Cheers for that mate! What size hose you running on that machine?

I tried like that but tienes que llenar los tornillos por lo menos 3 times, porque no rellena bien,
Si nosotros le demos con la Calaveras y caja 3 manos a todo.
I just bought the Mark iv after watching your video. Do you remove the screen at the bottom of the pump when spraying mud? Do you think that using a skimming blade would save some sanding?
Awesome thanks for the support.. No screen stays on its to protect the pump and yes skimming will cut down on sanding especially if pole sanding
I just watched a graco promotion video before this one, and the spokesman said he takes the screen out?
hello please for the sake of your pump dont remove that filter. you can tho remove the filters in the gun and thw canister.
I have a mark 4 and have done this, overall we though it was was more sanding and very uneven finish for level 5.
The Mirka made sanding the bulk of it easy and we leveled out all our joint before spraying so it worked out pretty good. The only set back was the screws shrinking so I think we will coat them with hot mud on the first see if it helps.
I have not used my Graco Mark iv yet. Any advice on what tip to use?
The one that it comes with worked out pretty good.
So when you spray it, do u have to level it with a tomahawk, or does it self level?
Yes it has to be leveled unfortunately it doesn't self level.
What about for erasing textures for smoothe finish have you tried that?
Can but it will take multiple coats to cover the big stuff so might be easier to skim the heavy coat then blast it a couple times with the sprayer.
Nice also we tried this machine for hand texture its amazing definatly works out just adjust the pressure 3/4 of the way 2500 psi i was running it
Do any Hawaiians use the Mark V for knock down coats? Curious.
Edit: Mark IV, anyway ...
We just use the the rtx1400 for that.
buy Festool inspection light it worse it.
What sander is that??
Mirka leros
just rent the Mark V no maintenance easy peezy.!
That would be awesome unfortunately no rental units available or places here in Hawaii.
I didn.t think off of that. Ames need to set set up shop. Thanks for sharing your story about your journey to becoming licensed, youtube and buying the Mark 4. Keep up the good work
@@1mandrywallarmytv144 awesome thanks for watching brother. Finally ordered a replacement tube after watching you video. 🤙🏽
