I was watching a lady making a quilt and I thought to myself, I can't quilt with fabric, but I do have lots of scrap papers from my card making so I will try with that. I love making them and even did some just to hang on the panes of my door leading from the sun room to the screened porch. They look so petty. Yours turned out just beautiful, I love both styles. Thanks for sharing. Have a Blessed day.
i like the diagonal striped cards. its great fun using up scraps. Narrow scraps placed in a quilting pattern make great men's card trims or card bases.
I seem to have found you a year after the video. I really enjoyed the ideas on using the scraps. Many of us have boxes of the scraps, and too pretty to toss! Thanks for your hard work. New subscriber here.
I have been doing this for a couple of years but most of my strips are narrower. I keep all my long scraps and then sit with my lap tray during the evenings and make up these card bases. I often add a strip of gold or silver mirri for added texture. Red and green are good for Christmas card bases tfs
The first time I saw the paper-piecing done was many, many years ago on Stubby Stampers and one of the members was making backgrounds with paper strips out of Christmas wrapping paper scraps. They looked to pretty because some of the scraps had some gold, or other metallic glints on them. Jambalaya was using those labels that come with charity return address labels on the self-stick sheets. Jam would remove the backing on the larger pieces and adhere the strips to that. When the strips had all been attached down, she would simply adhere the whole thing to a card blank, using tapes of one kind or another. I can't recall if she ever used glue. The backgrounds sure were pretty. I never saw her use the blocking technique, but I like that a lot, as well. She loves purples and I bet she would have loved your purple-blocked card. I certainly do. If I HAD to pick a fav, it would be that card, but I still love all of the rest as well. Happy stamping, Y'all!!! 😍😍😍
Get one of those LED light strips to light up the working area of a sewing machine. You do need to plug it in, but what a difference! Inexpensive, too! I just keep a plug strip on my worktable, anyway, for all sorts of helpers I need to plug in. Thanks for the ideas! I need to get my mojo back! It disappeared last month.: /
When I make card bases for blocks rather than strips, but again mine are usually smaller than yours, I often draw a black or white ‘stitch’ around each piece to give a sewn patchwork effect tfs
Wonderful ideas, I've got to try this! Thanks for sharing :-) I hope you show us the process of you making cards with these, I just know they'll come out terrific!

Beautiful cards!
Thanks so much!
My favorite card!
Great idea for using up your paper scraps whilst creating more card bases. Thanks for the inspiration
Thanks for watching!
Super keen cards using only scraps! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Thank u. I ❤️ the purple card. Purple is my favorite color also. Have a great, blessed night.
Thank you!
I found it was easier for me to put the adhesive on the card front. Hope that helps.
Lovely .Also looks nice if you leave slight gaps between & then use glitter as a ' grout ' ( obviously would have to preglue the the card )
Looks like you and I bought some of the same paper stacks 😉... And I also need to use up scraps. Cute cards!
I have so much paper. I really need to use it all up!
This can be adapted for a scrapbook layout. Simple but effective.
Your cards are Beautiful!!
I totally have some of the exact same scraps from forever ago that I've used for many, many projects. Enjoyed this!!!
I've had some of these scraps forever. I'm. happy to be using them.
Hi Maria, I loved your video. Thank you for showing how to use my scraps. I am in a lot of groups on Facebook. I will look for yours.
I make this few weeks ago. I don't have to buy overpriced cards in-store anymore. And I love your creativity that you mix up the pattern and colour.
I agree with not buying overpriced cards at the store. Plus we are recycling and saving the beautiful papers and used cards from the landfills!
Love your cards!!
They look nice and colourful.
Great idea! Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful work, I can’t believe what you do with cards!!! Unreal!
Thank you!
The Cutterpillar paper trimmer has a light on it…I have one and I LOVE it!!! I was hoping to see the finished cards. 🙃
I like the back light idea. I have a usb goose neck light and you can bend it where ever you want. One of those would work well.
So how would you decorate/embellish those cards? Would have loved to have seen a final decorated card!!
I used them in other videos. They are fun to use for sure.
@@craftyria could you link one of those videos. Would love to see it! Thanks.
I have a paper trimmer with a light. It is a bit expensive but a great buy.
Loved this. I am ready to gather my leftover scraps.
Thank you Julie!
I have a lot of the same printed paper you have. Nice cards
Inspiring...itching to do some...thank you

I have another whole drawer full of Christmas paper scraps, LOL.

Hi Miria I do the same thing with my scraps too, 💐💞🙋🏻

Good idea! They will look like quilts.
Loved these ideas! would love to join your facebook group! And the bird and the end--perfect timing :P
Love this idea. Why would you not put your tape strip down on the card base rather than on each paper strip?
I think you can do it either way.
I was thinking that as well, but she switched part way through.
Good idea
Thanks!
Now run those card bases through an embossing folder for some real zing ...
Great idea!

I will. I currently have a mess on my desk which is the plannings of another video.
Why not put tape on the card base and just stick the strips on?
What kind of rum is best for crafting?
You already know my answer. Zacapa 23, of course!
What kind of tape gun is that
It's an ATG tape runner. I got it from The Tape Depot. I have since upgraded to the Scotch brand (both are nice). amzn.to/38WTiIB
Thank you, just liked the narrow tape s
Do you spy on me or something? LOL! I was doing the same thing this morning...or trying to! Craftroom Cat was being needy.
We are BFFs for a reason.

That method will also work.
