I had both and prefer Jive. Barbershop was a bit too farty and warm sounding to me. Jive has a cough like quality that I really like. It's my favorite low gain drive / dirty boost.
This is one of my all time favorite circuits. The variety of drive textures available at the turn of a knob is really nice. The designer, Gillaume, was even kind enough to give some tips to DIYers in forums.
generally the drive knobs on these pedals don't do much but add more gain. maybe ease up on the knob twiddling and focus more on the different tones you can get. Eg. for this one sag and the 3 way switch. you add/reduce gain so much I can't even tell what's going on
Is this the same pedal that is referred to as the Millennium Barbershop and/or the Barbershop V2? It’s not specific for bass though, right? And yet it sounds amazing!
kinda sounds like a JPTR Jive, but with more control.
EDIT - thanks as always, these vids are super helpful.

You’re doing god’s work man. There’s too little info on bass toneshaping out there. I hope you get recognition ❤
This sounds fantastic on bass

Great with the cab sim for sure. Low end saturation is always great for bass lines that need weight.
