Hi intensive MD ,my mother who is 80 years old developed PE on second day after major abdominal surgery and she developed all the typical symptoms of pulmonary embolism such as difficulty breathing increase breathing rate increased heart rate ,chest pain ,slightly increased body temperature ,low saturation of oxygen and then when her abdominal surgeon asked doctors from the ICU to take her to the ICU because she was in danger they refused to accept her like they couldn't help her, there is no need to go to the ICU and so on later I found out that they do not accept older patients with inoperable tumor( even though after surgery her surgeon told me that she could potentialy live 2 or 3 more years) . They just gave her anticoagulant therapy and oxygen. She died couple of hours later because of cardio respiratory insufficiency. Thats inhumane and discriminatory!!!
Hey. Very informational. Thanks! What do you think about people with asthma and risk of blood clots ? In general, and covid related. Thanks for explaining !!
There are some studies that suggest severe asthma is a risk factor for blood clots, particularly pulmonary embolism. COVID is DEFINITELY associated with blood clots. The stats I've seen say 20-30% of COVID patients. We are certainly seeing this in our COVID ICU patients. Hope this was helpful!
I had extensive CVST a year and half ago cause of birth control pills. My last MRI showed no clots but I still experience some tingling sensation in my right side of the body especially when it's cold. Will it be there forever or get better with time?
I had my baby 2 months ago, 48 hours after giving birth I was diagnosed with postpartum hypertension was treated for that and my blood pressure as been fine, but ever since giving birth I have had a headache every single day all day it doesn’t go away with any medication or caffeine they have done MRIs and CT scans and they come back fine could this be CVST?
@@ZeeVisionsLLC I'm doing okay. Symptoms of pressure and hearing my heart beat have decreased. I still notice it some mornings for some reason. Do you have a CVST as well?
Leave your blood clot questions here!
Extensive CVST here, 7 years now passed and my case required a hemicraniectomy
