    And the question about wick, why everyone is leaving that long wick while pouring the wax if any way we cut it in the end? I always make it smaller so I dont waste that much of a wick. What do you think? :)

      Making them shorter requires more work when you make volume (100 at the time) because you need to recentre, etc… so it is more efficient for me. Keeping length at the top of the candle can be to add a tag or to do a pretty knot to finish the look.

    Hello, i make bubble candles for christmas but some of them have a thin white layer around, so that the color faded or bleached kind of. I think it‘s because i don‘t clean them enough. Usually i use very hot water, sometimes with soap but this didn‘t really help. When my molds are dry, you can see a really a small layer of white wax powder in the molds. What can i do? How do i clean them right? Some of my candles looking good and some really don‘t but only because of these white layers or they crumble a little bit off but only on the side. I pour my wax at 75-80 Celsius and i use rapeseed wax. Maybe you have some tips! Thank you!❤️

      I would not recommend using the same mould for other craft as there will be wax residue as well as FO / Dye depot on the mold.
      As per the lifetime, yes there will be a point we’re you need to replace it but if you are careful you can make hundreds of candles with the same mould.

    If using a soy pillar blend, how long should these candles burn? And how much wax should remain at the end? My candle has a nice flame and is burning inwardly like it should, but I'm about 3 hours in and a lot of the exterior candle still remains. I'm not sure if I have a big enough wick... I'm using a 24 ply flat braided wick and I have a bubble mold that's similar in size to yours in the video. The wick said it's meant for pillars with diameters 2-3 inches (my bubble mold is exactly 2 in) but I'm not sure if because this pillar wax is soy-based if it might need a bigger wick?

    • @GlowedCandles
      @GlowedCandles  3 роки тому

      I would say you need a bigger wick. You want it to burn inward but not tunnel too much which sounds like it is what’s happening in your example.

      Do not spray grease! You need a 100% silicone spray. Spray the moulds directly prior to pouring.

    • @GlowedCandles

      Three potential issues:
      1) You are not using the correct wax type, by the sound of it it is too soft for pillar candle.
      2) if you are using pillar wax maybe your temperatures are off.
      3) your molds need cleaning

    Hi! Thanks for the video. I am trying to make bubble candles. I use soy wax, I add fragrance at 65°C and I pour my wax at 60°C in the mold. I left them dry over night, got them out of the mold and left them cure for 2 weeks (that's what I read). I used 5 types of wick to see which one lasts longer and burns slower. TCR 27 lasted 1h30min and the longest burn was ECO 2 with 3h30min. What am I doing wrong? I heard that a correct bubble candle has to burn 10h or so. Also wax dripped all over.. Can you help me with some advice? Thank you in advance!!

      @@GlowedCandles soy wax 464 for moulds

    • @GlowedCandles
      @GlowedCandles  2 роки тому +1

      As far as I know 464 is a container wax at least in the UK. So I don’t know the mould version so hard to help. Each wax is different and require a different wick. Eco 2 seems very small though and I would expect it to tunnel.
      One thing I would say is that when people say 10h burn time it doesn’t mean 10h straight. It means 10h within a burn pattern of 1h or 2h at the time.

    • @Zozolee19

      @@GlowedCandles 494* sorry. It is for moulds for sure. Every wick made a tunnel tho. Each different size. I don't understand how it is supposed to melt. If the candle makes a tunnel it's not right, if it doesn't the wax drips like crazy... could you maybe post a video of how it is correct for a candle like this to burn please?
