    While watching this video, I cried multiple times. I am an overweight 26 years old guy and I promise, one day I will run in one of the iron man races 🥺💜. Love from Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, India. ❤️

      No amount of exercise can you lose weight dude, no need to cry, just do intermittent fasting and lose the weight, you go vegan you will need supplements....

    I competed in and completed the 1984 Kona Triathlon World Championships. My goal is to be back 40 years later in 2024! Semper Fi & Agape to all Ironmen and all! OOOOOOH-RAH!!!!

      I was in Kona with you in 1984! Did it again in 1986 on the Air Force Team. At 68 I'm going to watch you on TV. I'm doing 5K & 10K's now. Ed - best wishes! Greg

    As soon as I seen Brownlee was in the mix I thought the other guys had no chance. Little did I know, Ironman is whole other event to regular triathlons. Not even close

    The Goal came from Watching Magnum PI Original in the 1980's Era!...It grew with Athletic We endurance maturity in Training & Charity Goals & Contributions that help so many others. This is a Serious Challenging Human body Event!..*To achieve something in the *That's Impossible Category! (🏆)..*The inspiring Legacy it leaves on People..*The Video is exceptional on UA-cam!.I encourage all & any to watch it sometime!

    I competed this race in 1984 and Ironman Hawaii is as empowering and spectacular now in 2021 as it was then. Every Ironman triathlete should have the opportunity to take on the challenge of Kona. Unforgettable no matter how long it takes you to finish..

      I was there with you in 1984. A neighbor is doing the 2022 Ironman at age 71. We are fortunate to have experienced this. I am so grateful.

    when i see that i always get goosebumps although my start and finish was a long time ago (2006 and 2009)

    My first tri, Ironman 1982 kona, never forget. 9:32....at age 35... i was amazing and these new people are truly amazing.. The entry was only about 125$ hahaha Now its big money to play...

    if they can do it you can do it. just believe you can. no matter what your circumstances are you too can do it. all you need is to believe in yourself. maybe one day you too can call yourself an iron man. and that day you will have met a totally new you you never knew.     Just lost 25kgs from 115kgs, ans deciding to be an ironman, those four words “you are an Ironman” and these emotions made me cry and fuelled my hunger to be an ironman

    I’m training for my first sprint triathlon. Today I just completed a 5k race, a 15 mile bike and 1/2 mile swim (not in succession). I’m tired and sore. I can’t fathom what it takes to complete the Kona. I’m not 10 minutes into this and I’m teary just knowing how f’n hard it must be.

    I qualified last week at Ironman Cairns, I paid my money but ill probably have to pull out as we arent allowed to travel from Australia yet :( Ive been trying for 12 years. Hope they let us defer or ill have to qualify again!

    Did he say 5:30 per mile on the marathon (28:29)? Is that a mistake? Jesus, that's phenomenal

      Probably fast out of the gate for the first 2 miles, but avg 6:15-6:20 pace is more realistic for a 8hr Ironman (2:35 to 2:50 hr marathon). Jan probably wanted to create some distance because a leader in view is tantalizing motivation for the people behind to run faster haha.
