- We walk the downtown area of SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA to experience the small-town America vibe that is unique among Southern California beach communities. Compared to its neighboring beach cities -- Long Beach, Huntington, Newport, Laguna -- Seal Beach is unpretentious, laid-back, friendly, uncrowded, calm, and safe. It is a great alternative for both visitors and locals to enjoy the beach, pier, and town at a pace that's more relaxed and folksy than other beach communities. A diverse range of eating establishments line Main St. Lots of free on-street parking in addition to the pay lots near the pier.

SEAL BEACH, 🏖️ IS MY FAVORITE 🏖️ BEACH. I GROW UP ON SEAL BEACH. I BEEN AT SEAL BEACH SINCE ,I WAS LITTLE GIRL , MY MOM USE TO TAKE US TO THE BEACH 🏖️ALL THE TIME. SEAL BEACH 🏖️ IS NUMBER ONE IN MY BOOK 📚 , IT BRINGS BACK SO MANY MEMORIES.

Thanks for the memories. I grew up in Long Beach and my mom had a craft store on Main Street, Seal Beach in the 70's called The Cricket. It was pretty much across the street from the Tank Farm store you visited. I owned two Harbor surfboards back then and seeing your video from my home in the Thai jungle now, made me feel nostalgia. My nephew still bellyboard surfs Seal Beach when it's breaking. Seal Beach still looks about the same except for the prices. Nice video.

Sunset beach is a few miles south down the road. More quiet without the shops. A beautiful beach though.

"Love Seal BEACH", Practically grew up on this beach and main street. The pier used to have a good Hamburger restaurant. Next to Belmont Shore, and Naples, I would favor Seal Beach. It smells so cool here.

So helpful - thinking of relocating to OC and trying to pinpoint a city/area to live in and this seems so nice, charming, walkable, clean and charming. Are there any downsides to Seal Beach - traffic, homeless, crime?
I would say that its proximity to LA County could be a downside. -WMM

Earlier today, I was walking at Belmont Pier, Long beach, and I saw a longer pier down to the south. I was wondering is it was the pier you were walking on?

What is good to do there for teens?
The beach, ice cream shops. Seal Beach is pretty sedate - older crowd. Huntington Beach a few miles south has more teen attractions - lively beach activities, biking, rollerblading, volleyball, etc. -WMM
Is anything open at night? Do people hang anywhere?
I imagine the Irish bars are open at night but as for where to hang, for me it would be the ice cream shop. -WMM

Perfect place at the end of the pier to see San Clemente's island 60 miles away. Completely destroyed the mythical blue marble. Earth is seriously flat❤
