Hello Nick, Yesterday I got in fight with with someone on road, as soon as the guy kicked on my left leg I slipped on floor easily because it was raining, exactly my left leg was on orthodox position kind of boxing traditional and Thai boxing. Also the quality of my shoes are quite bad, they don't scratch properly when it rains and what do you do in that situation? With the rain condition I couldn't throw any jabs, that's was difficult, how do you manage? Should I grab the guy? I mean how to get a good standing even when the floor is slippery? I was also wearing with a hat jacket, once I fall down my face was covered with it, I couldn't see nothing and how do you avoid that situation? Also what do you do to avoid getting punched in the face and because I received some in my face? Exactly the guy throw some fists right in my face, should I use head movement? Should I use my arms to protect my face? Please make a video Nick 🙏
This attack is very hard to defend against if the attacker is pulling AND simultaneously throwing you to the ground. As indicated in the video, where the head moves the body moves. This defense is great if the attacker is giving you a few seconds to counter attack. Try counter attacking when someone is grabbing your hair and right away are pulling you down to the ground with force. It’s pretty much impossible to defend a hair grab from behind with a forceful pull down to the ground. You will be thrown off balance immediately. You should practice defending if you are thrown to the ground from the hair grab from behind. So what if you’re thrown on the ground from the hair grab and he puts his knee on your belly and starts landing down strikes from side control? With just all his weight on a woman’s belly with his knee is enough to make her squirm in pain.
Best comment ever! The fight starts when I make eye contact or intuitive contact. Every time I feel someone watching me I look them dead in their eyes to let them know I see them
Watched this to protect me from my attacker. I'm usually too scared to hit him back but he doesn't usually strike me. I will try to be quicker in my responses until I get him to stop intimidating me. Thank you.
assuming its a grab from behind you throw both your hands back over the attacker hands press his hands against your skull before you do the turn/ twist move . hope this makes sense but I am sure Nick knows what I mean, if I grab your hair/ponytail its to pull it , if your hands are over mine forcing my hands against your skull, well then I am not pulling your hair causing the pain and control I expected and best of all its a surprise move , same as on this video when an attacker grabs you by the hair he is counting that you try to pull away (which is a mistake) if like seen here you do the oposite , control the grab , move close , and shout / attack like a maniac
In regards to the kneeing i would say that as long as he has the hair and therefore the head control, knees are absolutly out of the option plate. Even the slightest pull on the head will get you off balance. Just try for yourself if someone else is holding your hair and feel how arkward every movement feels. Thats because head movement automatically aligned with our bodymovement and artificially and unpredictable restrictions of that connection will lead to reduced coordination.
I think the most important thing for training is to get rid of the instinct of pulling away as this is basically you lining your self up for a disaster.
Wonderful video. For all long haired women out there, just by virtue of the fact that an attacker grabs your hair, leads you to believe that enough likelihood that individual does not have any significant training, and if you do, you will have an advantage. Attack, just like Helen says in the video. Xpovia Polla Nick! Your friend from Toronto.
Good vid for the ladies, even those who are not aggressive people. But the thing is, NO MAN should ever grab or strike a woman even if she strikes you. Walk away, get away from the situation. Of course there are some woman who are not ladies, then self defense at a minimal level just to defuse the situation should be used.
This is great the way Helen and Nick show, few techniques, and against the hairpull first is be aware avoid I get to the point I can grab your hair , when that happens I only have 1 thing to add , place at least one hand over the attackers hand and press it against your head, this way he cant pull your hair then do that turn and then unleash what you have nails , keys , whatever , and while you do it be loud , I mean be maniac , lots of people might laugh at this but its true if I am going to attack a woman I go with the confidence I am stronger , I have this , its going to be an easy victim , if that victim becomes a "victim" scratching , bitting , loud as a wild cat , my focus as an attacker its gone , its more like now someone help me get away from this crazy b**ch
Who lets their other arm hang limp by their side like that? If someone grabs with one hand the punch is incoming with the other. If not, it's always both hands.
I always think he goes a bit too rough but at the same time I get it he’s just demonstrating and I’m probably just having the normal reaction to witnessing a staged attack.
What about if someone grabs a person's headscarf or pulls it off, in a hate crime, for instance? As Islamophobic attacks are on the rise. Please do a video on that Nick. Thanks!
I know how important headscarfs are for muslim women but lets imagine I am the attacker , I grab your scarf pull it off , my hands now are "busy" with the scarf (depending on the scarf) but if this is the case run away , if its a front grab , use the same technique as if the scarf was your hair , both hands fingers connected over the attacker hands press his hand down then twist , once again if he gets the scarf off run away , as you see Helen do here she fights until she breaks the threat then would run away , thats how important the final message of the video is , be aware if I am walking behind you and you feel I am dodgy try to get to safety and I am sure Nick will agree on this the best self defense is to avoid getting to the point of a physical fight

Great suggestion

Strike quickly at the moment your attacker comes into physical contact with you.

This training partner - 1000% better than the last one. She took it seriously.
Nice video! Thanks for keeping it simple and proving that you don't need crazy skills to defend yourself.
*Helen is awesome* ♥

ok, what if the man strikes the woman first?
Nick do you reply? 😀 great video!
Hi yes I do

Keep going 🔥🔥🔥
Dumb, attacker would spin to the ground, she’s helpless

So point of video, Don't mess with Helen. Lol

But when they grab your hair their striking.

If they pull off your scarf, run away to safety. The scarf is in their hands, you are free to run...
