Hello. A suggestion: I personally think the preferred form of address should be “Ms. Studer” or her full name “Cheryl Studer”. First names are used casually between people who know each other well (e.g., close friends and family). I am writing this because lately one hears some referring to Lise Davidsen as “Lise”, as if they were on intimate terms with her. To me it sounds off-putting, insensitive and, above all, sexist (“Lise” the object, “Lise” the one we own, and so on). I don’t understand it as being used endearingly at all.
Is there any other so versatile singer with such a wide repertoire, from coloratura till Wagner these days or last 70 years? With such a beautiful voice, Maria Callas had a versatile personality, but the voice, how unique she was, was not really beautiful, she was the born drama queen!
By the by, in my house there has been no Maria Callas for as long as I can remember. Don’t miss her one bit. I certainly don’t miss at all any of her widows. They are the nastiest lot that ever lived.
@@doGreatartistsgrowontrees das krieg ich jetzt auf englisch nicht ganz hin...welche widows...btw the old divas were quite often double faced, Schwarzkopf which was an excellent singer, was a passionate nazi till her last day...her past before 1945 is not very glorious, an affair with a famous german nazi in poland (the slaughter of poland, thankfully i forgot his name)...so it was like a hidden agenda!
Vero soprano assoluto
I love this and I love Cheryl x

She certainly knew how to float the tone.
Yes she did/could.
