Pull rates for Scarlet and Violet 151 so far have been a bit lackluster. A couple days ago, we opened up almost 100 booster packs of Pokemon 151 and struggled big time in our pulls. Due to historical data, we expected Scarlet and Violet 151 Elite Trainer Boxes to have plenty of hits, however we were a bit let down in the results. Was this just a result of bad luck? Batching? Or does Scarlet and Violet 151 just have mediocre pull rates? To find out, we open the next round of 100 booster packs by breaking into the Scarlet and Violet 151 Poster Collection, Binder Collection, and Booster Bundles. Did we get better results? Let's find out!

I really agree with your comment hoping for a nostalgic look back on gen 2! I hope they do a set dedicated to gen 2, for me gen 2 just hits different, the nostalgia is extra strong. Can’t wait for the release of this though!

Instead of increasing the MSRP on the ETBs, they lowered the packs from 10 to 9, so that's the hidden cost increase.
I probably would have liked a higher price for 10 packs more
Its sad though as it costs them like 25 cents a pack to make at the most. I mean if Chinese knockoffs can sell at 50 cents a pack and make profit then we are truly getting ripped off its why the price increase was a joke. Oh manufacturing went up 5 cents? Lets raise the price 50 cents as they are making 900% markup on these products and want to continue with such a poor value product.
@@vherostarthe pokemon company sells to distributors who then sell it to big box stores or lgs stores who then turn around and sell it to you. if you have a problem write to the distro companies so they can give it to stores for less

A Gen 2 retro set would be awesome! Not too impressed with the pull rates so far. It seems like they are leaning heavily on those holo energies as “hits”

Shame that they seem to have tightened on the pull-rates. My kids were enjoying the better rates in S&V's earlier sets, even though the hits themselves weren't as amazing.

It could just be this set plus maybe upcoming speciality sets, we will have to wait and see when paradox rift comes out

From the moment I found out about this set coming out I decided that I don’t care about pull rates. Even the standard cards have amazing art and all the nostalgia is gonna make this a really fun set to open. Waiting for my gf to get home so we can open our packs that we got before work this morning.

I always felt like the thick lined full arts especially with the stars surrounding them were considered “shining”. Either way I always liked the simplicity of them too

So far my good pulls came from ETB and the Binder. I bought two boosters and no hits from them at all. I guess the Pokemon company thought, we should br grateful that they gave us the Promo Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander. 😬
Watching these openings is really deflating my hype to open packs. There are so many cool cards in the set, and I currently have 2 ETBs and 1 premium collection pre ordered, but it seems pointless to open them with these pull rates. I know they can't be handing them out left and right, but this seems super low. I may just keep 1 of each sealed, and crack the 1 ETB for the promo snorlax.
Yeah makes me wonder what the singles pricing will be like. Core set and reverses will be dirt cheap and the big hits will likely be pricey
@@brianp6859 it will probably change come the second print. With pulls this hard, it's guaranteed lots of people will buy and buy. Once the sales drop off from lack of interest, we will get a loaded second print. Just my 2 cents on it.
I think I’m to the point where all I want to collect is Crown Zenith and 151. I’ll always watch for unique art from vintage sets as well!

@@CatBack94 Not from the openings I've seen so far! The boxes he opened in this video were much better than the case of ETBs in my opinion but every box will be different so I'm sure it'll be hit or miss
I think it’s funny that so many people complained about easy pull rates in the last few sets, and now that the pull rates are harder people are disappointed because it will be harder to master. Pack opening might not be as fun but the harder it is to pull cards the more valuable they become.

This set is deflating right before my eyes. I've seen enough videos to know, that getting anywhere near what we want while opening packs is never going to happen. I almost don't even want to open anything at all. Maybe one of each product for the promos and to get a taste. But, eek... feels like Pokemon GO! You keep opening, and getting nothing or stuff you don't want. LOL
I wouldn't mind if the pull rates will be slightly better on the next round of printing for this set

I really love how they took the rainbow and made it the outline of the full arts, it really makes the Pokémon look like they are popping off the card, but also I’m so glad rainbow rares have faded away.
Also you would think the pull rate would be awesome because it’s a special set and the fact that they are cutting pack quantities from boxes, you would think they would want to help their customers?When will Pokémon stop screwing with ppl?
I think we've been a bit spoiled with Crown Zenith and especially Obsidian Flames (though I opened a single ETB of that and just got a Houndoom EX... the second ETB was much better!), I empathise with them trying to find the sweet spot with the pull rates. When it comes to the boxes, I have 1 of everything except the booster bundles and mini tins prebooked and I will try and pick up another poster box so I can display each side but then will probably just go for booster bundles if I decide I want to crack some more open.

Love this variety opening. Pulls are tough for sure. Just triggers my OCD when you open the packs and the top 1/4 is cut off from the camera angle. Much love.
The local card shop has already raised the prices for their booster bundles to $38. At that price its better to buy any of the other 3 products

Pokemon have obviously give poor pull rates, this is no doubt down to the fact they know this set will sell well regardless due to it being those OG 151. Pokemon company and Nintendo are exploiting their fans with this set and its sad at this point. I want to enjoy pokemon TCG again but they are making it really difficult with their decisions as of late and sales are crashing too, so its probably the WORST time to treat your customers poorly.

I think the main issue is just that we don't have booster boxes for this set. As far as ancillary products go, it feels to line up with my general experience for S&V haha

So based on this small sample size buying poster collwctions seems to be the way to go lol
They Definitely nerfed the pull rates...so far from the few youtubers ive seen, they've not been getting much from the ETBs. The special energies dont make up for the loss of the masterballs in Japanese. I did order the UPC but will probably stick to just mastering my japanesse 151 😊

Damn i pulled the zapdose and charizard secret illustration rares in a binder collection single pack and the blastoise full art in a seperate single pack in the same box pretty happy with it

I'm completing this set regardless of the pull rates. This set it what brought me back to the cards and I've been rebuilding my collection for about 6 months now getting ready for this. Friday can't come soon enough

TPC knows how many people are hyped for SV151, instead of them letting us have fun opening the products, they tighten the pull rates to sell even more products then they already would have…

First pack I opened of the set was from a booster bundle I got the gold mew.
151 has some of the most insane artworks
So they made the pull rates a little tougher
Hey danny. Would u recommend the binder collection to put cards in? I bought 1 but not sure if i need extra. Only reason is its basically free because u pay for the packs
I ordered one also. If your a big collector, can never have to many binders if you find yourself loving the art on the one we get

Why is everyone saying Crown Zenith pull rates for the ETB's were awesome 😅 My luck was absolutely the worst with that set :(
Pull rates suck all the time. There are no good pull rates with Pokemon, only acceptable for Pokemon. Opened thousands of packs and only pulled like 20 alternate arts. People just see all the good hits posted and think its good. Crown Zenith was brutal for me too lol

Very disappointed they did the energy with the cosmos pattern and not the reg holes. Seems like a good set to bring that back with. BTW that lightning had a swirl 😁

I thought decreased pull rates + actual game play usage in championship decks would increase the value of certain cards. So I was actually excited to start opening packs of a set with limited run cards and pulling some scarce treasures. The chase isn't fun if I know I'm gonna catch em all 😅

I am trying to get back into the game. I use to collect them when I was a kid (gen 1). I saw that singles cost 11 per pack, but the box with Snorlax is 55 and comes with 9…. That’s way cheaper than buying singles. Logically for the money that would be the best, right? What do you mean by hits, and what exact cards are you trying to pull?

Watching Rev pull 7 Charizards out of a case of ETBs gave me some hope for the pull rates.
I really don't think that luck is typical of average pull rates.

Been just buying some singles over the years but 151 and recent sets with illustration rares really peaked my interest so i now preordered some stuff to try my luck at pulling some stuff for once
So far for pre-order have 2 Ultra Premium, 1 tin display case, 2 ETBs, and 1 poster :)
