Great video, BUT when packing the hub carrier with grease,on the inside of the carrier is a bleed hole, this bad design allows the grease to come out before it reaches the bearings, Put a self tapping screw in the bleed hole so that the grease is forced to the bearings. A trick I learned in a Jaguar Restoration shop :)

WOW! I am going to keep my XJ6's hubs super greased so I don't have to do that job! A lot of specialized tools I don't have. Great job!

Hi! Great video :) Do you know if theres anyway to remove the hub from the hub carrier without a hydraulic press?

Well thanks for this, I'm still trying to figure out how you calculated 142 thou of an inch spacer for the wheel bearings.

Does seem like a thicker spacer would be required to reduce the end play, and thus the calc would be 150 + 8 = 158. (instead of 150 - 8 = 142).

Even though I don’t understand it, a thicker spacer increases end play. I can’t visualize what’s going on in there to make that true, but having measured end play with various spacer thicknesses, that’s definitely the way it works (ie thicker spacer increases end play).
