- In response to the complaint filed against her for verifying the identity of Muslim women on voter ID cards while at a polling place, BJP candidate for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat, Madhavi Latha, stated that 90 percent of polling places are compromised and that police claim it is not their duty to verify the identities on voter IDs.
BJP candidate for Hyderabad, Madhavi Latha, stated in an interview with ANI, "90% of booths are compromised." Female constables should not be instructed by the police to verify the voter ID's face. The policeman told me it wasn't his job when I asked."

The police officers on duty and the election officials present in the booth should have checked the face of the females who reached there covering their faces. Without removing it how can one understand whether it is a lady of a man ? If the officers are not checking voters properly bogus voting would take place. Preventing fake votes is the responsibility of the election officials and police reported on duty. The same checking can be done by Ovaisi also. If the police and election officials are not doing their duty it is the candidate's responsibility to verify the voters at least on a random basis. So there is no point in blaming the candidate.
Madhavi Latas gender should have been checked by lifting the Saree.

Madam, you are right and have a point, but you cannot take law in your hands. Your responsibility lies in bringing the lapse to the notice of the law enforcement officer and ends there. What you did has set a bad precedent and in the current scenario is bound to be seen as offensive. A little sensitivity would have still achieved the same result.

That's the job of the Polling officials at the Polling station, and they have the power to ask any voter to show their faces for verification. And no other individual has the right to do what that arrogant and ignorant candidate did.

It’s visible that the police standing there watching and the officer on duty are neglecting their duties. If citizens observe cases in which the law is broken(possible identity fraud), it’s a civic duty to act actively or passively. Mrs Latha apparently did that.
