- That's right; using CK3 Hellenism and CK3 Roman religion and cultures respectively, we exploited the Iberian Struggle in order to launch a Roman Invasion of the iberian peninsula. Along the way, we also made our ruler immortal, because why not? Join Augustus Caeser as he is reborn into the 1066 start date... we even try to reform Hellenism by conquering holy sites! CK3 Fate of Iberia is a great new DLC!
This is how I exploited the Iberian Struggle in a HELLENIC ROMAN INVASION in CK3...

Haha! This channel is so cool! if only there was a channel that uploaded clip sized videos of these just for the casual viewer to watch in their own time! hm!
Man that would be great, I would subscribe to it if it existed
Nah that would be to good to be true
Wow that's a great idea for a channel! Why has nobody done it before?
My lawyers will be in touch mate
what is this roleplay
Koifish: Watch me break the Iberian struggle with Vikings!
Leith: Watch me do even better!
Ending world hunger as the vikings
This really isnt that ridiculous as during the islamic invasion of Iberia, they still called the Iberians romans and so did the iberians call themselves, speaking a vulgar latin language. Visigoths didn’t overpopulate romans, and intermixing was banned for a very long time.
Native population was in the millions. Visigoths were not nearly that many. Even intermarried, they would still be Romans.
Not in 1066 they would not anymore. And believe me when most people dont know how to read or write (since the central authority had fallen sice 476) no one really cared to remember about it anymore. It was a distant memory. They werent called romans but Latins. Just like Islamics of the time only made a difference between latins and greeks talking about about europeans (obviously had more names for slavic and eastern europe just to keep it simple). Im sorry to say its complete and utter bullshit that its 'not that ridiculous'. Still a really fun scenario though, maybe if it was in the viking start date it would have made a little bit more sense.
@@HansWurst1569 I’m pretty sure Native Iberians still have more than 10% Roman dna which is major. When Pelagius made Asturias it was romanized. When napoleon installed his brother in Iberia it was romanized. Romanization echoes with the Iberian people for a reason. And in 1066 it would have been even stronger seeing as their conqueror bloodline was the only thing that kept the mass of the nobles from defecting to France or to the caliph. Which a lot of them did but Pelagius of Asturias was able to consolidate enough man power and wealth in northern Spain and he called it a safe haven for the bloodline of Rome and that moved the pope to step in for the reconquista which led to the state they had in the 1000’s
"Please don't take my capital, please don't take my capital... You son of a bitch" = Basically every medieval ruler
Late game is where the hellenic struggle truly begins because of the 18k strong templar knights
I’m actually making a mod for this. Spartafrican culture is a thing, as well as a reformed type of Hellenism. Canon wise a bunch of Spartans led a Greek expedition past the pillars of herakles and settled the coast of Ghana/Ivory coast. One Spartafrican has taken Gran Canary as Atlantis with the ambition of joining the Iberian struggle. The spartafricans are completely over powered and, with the ideas I have, will only get more over powered buuuuut it’s a mod I’m making for myself so I don’t really care
well, this mod sounds pog as hell even if it's overpowered so when there's a proper version, could we play it?
Wouldn't it be less disruptive to history if the Romans just expelled them to Ghana/Ivory Coast? Also, Spartans would have slavery reforms (though probably not people from the local area as they have become much stronger due to Roman/whatever rule). Also, you can't have Spartans with a Diarcy. Also, women have a lot of power, but the entire culture is very stereotypically masculine.
@@SirRodas technically it’s ready. I just haven’t added graphics or fixed the localisation files so there’s descriptions and proper names as apposed to “heritage_spartafrican” and stuff like that. Also have a few ideas for special buildings, like a new Library of Alexandria in Seville or a reformed agoge, that I’d like to add. A clean version will take a long time though, full time job and all that getting in the way haha
@@UniDocs_Mahapushpa_Cyavana just my head canon mate. A Greek expedition that’s led by Spartans doesn’t mean just Spartans. Think of it like a Greek joint venture similar to the alliances in Troy. Also, spartafrican sounds better then Afro-Greco or something. I made woman equal for martial status, just not equal for inheritance. Keep in mind, I literally only made this mod so I have an option to go hellenic without playing a whole game of imperator and importing it
@@shadowboy166 Still weird to have Sparta without a Diarchy.
Spain is well known for providing Rome with some of it's best emperors
Augustus was born in Rome, Nerva was born in Narni Italy, Trajan was from Hispania, Hadrian was either from Hispania or Rome it's disputed, Antonius Pius was born in Italy, Marcus Aurelius was born in Rome, the restorer of the world Aurelian was born in one of the Dacia Ripensis in Balkans, Diocletian was from Dalmatia, Constantine was born in modern day Serbia, Justinian was from Balkans, Heraclius(though idk if he can be counted as great emperor given he lost Levant and Egypt to newly formed Muslim caliphate) was born in cappadocia, Basil I "the macedonian" kinda says where he was from and final great emperor, Basil II "The Bulgar-Slayer" was from constantinople.
So out of all the most known emperors to a lay person, 1, perhaps 2 if we count the Hadrian being from Hispania. Granted the one who we for sure know was from Hispania was titled "Optimus Princeps" Best Ruler, and the empire did reach it's greatest extent under his rule.
Then again is it harder not to fuck up and build up on your predecessor's stability, or pull a whole empire back from the grave and be titled "Restitutor Orbis" Restorer of The World.
@@The_Yukki I would argue that Trajan, Hadrian, Marcus Aurelius and Theodosius are from families in Hispania. Though 2 of them fucked up their succession plan and caused instability after their rule.
@@akapbhan Yea Marcus Aurelius kinda fucked that one up. Most emperors have the excuse of being assassinated or dying in battle or sudden sickness before succession could be settled.
My favorite thing to do is a Hellenic Roman start in Salerno or Apulia, becoming a religious vassal of the BE, becoming the emperor and restoring the Roman empire as a roman. The text box throws shade at the greek emperors.
Also, watching Hellenism devour orthodoxy and Catholicism is hilarious.
this was pretty cool. I'd love to see a continution or more similar stuff (reviving dead cultures/faiths in interesting places)
Nobody expects the Roman intervention!
It's all fun and games until the Romans come back.
I’d love to see more Laith, keep this campaign going if possible!
My favourite way to play is an immortal character who can't have children- that means you're much stronger than anybody else, but a succesfull murder scheme or bad luck in combat is an instant game over.
It would be fun to do a Highlander roleplay, become the King of Scotland and then the world
Of course the glorious Roman restoration starts in my home county 😎
Literally the heirs to Rome. Spain needs to unite European Union and proclaim the rebirth of the Roman Empire
@@riverman6462 Truer words have never been spoken
@@riverman6462 Couldn’t have said it better myself
As an August this makes me happy
I think that you were following the Hellenic Faith so saying Zeus instead of Jupiter is acceptable?
He's Roman, so it would be Jupiter instead of Zeus.
Augustus was casted by Netflix
PART 2 PLEEAAASSEEE
Dig the tunes.
How the hell did you gain immortality?! Is a mod or a very rare base game thing?
part 2 surely
how do you made your ruler immortal? greetings from Sicily
Yo why does he always use the country CB not the duchy ones ?
Did my wife just die? Again?
So inconvenient for me...
Good vid. now do king arthur
Wait ... Romans can raid whileFeudal!?
Just married. "Can I have multiple wifes?" :D
nobody expects the roman inquisition
how did you get immortality?
Was the immortal trait a mod or did they add it in the dlc?
It's not in the DLC, so must be a mod.
there is a jewish culture that got exiled form Jerusalem (cant remmber the name tho) but a great idea imo :)
what mods?
Theologian gay holy Hellenic monarch of Catalonia, damn
Meh, it's a custom character so I don't care
: D
Damn you really have no idea how to play this game huh?
First
Does anyone know which decision is the best to end the struggle?
Alt+F4 works.
Ah yes, the true meaning of Latin-Spanish culture.
Byzantine Empire recaptured most of Southern Spain by year 600 and only lost it due to the moronic decision of Phocas to murder Maurice
They are the same picture
Pasta tapaz
If you have no available spouse, that means said spouse owns territory, and thus it is a BAD idea to get rid of them unless you don't want that territory.
Well Laith only seems to play as individual characters so basically ignores the entire dynastic succession part of the game.
But in this case, the wife was barony-rank. The land wouldn't go to a primary heir, nor any heir that was already going to inherit a county or better, making it pretty unlikely for it to end up with his dynasty.
Hey you could be reviving the Zoroastrian Persian Empire starting as the Sassanids in Mazandaran, who are already in the game
I had a vassal who lived to 107 and had 55 learning. What a chad
I suggest you to restore mighty of Visigoths, their realm, culture and with any European pagan faith you like, since there is no special "germanic paganism" in game as far as i understand.
I suppose just standard Paganism or Asatru would work.
Honestly by the time Visigoths took over Spain they were pretty much christian already.
Not gonna lie it feels kind of weird seeing a Hispania that isn’t Norse.
a nice round idea is "Make Habsburg Great again" :D one habsburg duke exist in 1066 Start in Swiss land :) Lets go you can do it :D
Unite germania as Andalusia, it’s very fun.
You didn't have a single revolt, because of the crusader king trait. It removes the cultural penalty to popular opinion.
Continue!!!
You whould continue this campaign
Restore Rome in a part 2 please
I'd like to see you revive more dead religions and cultures!
The whole point is the process of reviving the culture is actually doing the revival lmao
Did you know you can move where you raise your troops?
Laith Roman Empire must be Reborn from Spain. Emperor Marcus Aurelius Approves.
Wait theres a console command to become immortal? What is it? i fecking hate succession
Hahaha, if the Papacy ever gets a vassal it gets stupid.
Celts Celts Celts!!! Take back the lands!!!
MUK Backwards
Can you try to become a Roman successor state in North Africa next time? There is evidence of a North African Romance language that survived in the area until at least the 1000s. You could maybe create a hybrid Roman Algerian culture, with religion of your choice?
Cheating.... Debugmode....
And "I begin as a god, and roflstomp through the game." How challenging.
Laith, if you haven't formed Era Zaharak as the Basues yet, you should give it a try. If you go with the warlike reform path, you can conquer Iberia in record time with the pagan conquest CB.
Wow this reminds me of a CK2 compaign. The sheer ridiculousness of everything! Which mods were you using?
I also tried as a hellenic roman. But the People always converted back to their old faith....
I like starting in the Alhabra Fortress county in 867, very fun
You definitely didn’t use only 400 points when making your leader
fatimid guy has 59 learning wow
A Roman Empire creation with this dude will be awsome!
2:35 loop that!
Pt 2 please
I’m a bit confused. How did you get involved in the struggle as a non Iberian heritage/ religion?
By the Character Creator
Damn your ruler was truly Roman to his core, he was even into fucking guys!
