i think a lot of people dont realise that charles thompson has always shifted his music in different directions. from the first pixies album to the last album he made.
i think alot of musicians who wanna become songwriters should seriously study this mans music. its great fun and very educating
I 100% agree everything you said here. I've been listening to pixies and Frank black & the catholics since I was a teenager in the 90s and I am a musician and charles thompson is one of my top 3 most profound influences. I don't wanna hear an artist repeat themselves for years with no growth and no layers of depth. I wanna hear them beating their soul everytime and I wanna hear stories that cut close to the bone and that's what I get from black francis. It's great to hear someone else truly appreciate him for what he is and say fuck the critics, cause also fuck the critics! Lol. Take care!
@@mariagrace817 I highly recommend Caetano Veloso. I was really lucky to be made aware of such amazing music from Brazil. Just something so alien but understood and different and above all, amazing. Like Charles Thompson. And also.... Are you ready?..... Are you sure you are ready for this?..... I also recommend extremely highly.... Genesis. You could also be fan. I don't know, I get extreme reactions when I say I like them 😂

I have always loved this one while never actually owning any F Black and the Catholics stuff. Was never even a huge Pixies lover but I have to appreciate the gravity of their influence and talent, especially Black with both bands. Takes me back to better times...better in many ways. In one way it was a time when the left had yet to become thoroughly corrupted and worthy of their causes. I often am amazed that most musicians still stick to the left, or better said the new left when they have adopted Orwellian tactics and subvert nazi style social programming. I was a life long democrat and it hurts to watch what has become of my once beloved party....Sorry for the politics but people need to wake up and shed their denial. Don't be used and abused by dark forces.
