Thank you for your video. It helped me a lot replacing the back cover on my S21 today. I was able to use a regular hair dryer to get the glue soft enough for the guitar picks.
Yep, thats why we are replacing it. I'd be happy with aluminum because my glass cracked on its own. Never been dropped always in a case. I had anotger s21 with a repaired back and there was fluff in the camera which ruined photos.
Do you think the tape that comes with the replacement back is enough to keep it from falling off (no glue)? Maybe I should reheat and clamp it just to make sure it sticks well?
@ersbit Thank you for the video, it has been extremely useful. I do have a question about using the glue. In the video you said you do not advise using the glue for the S21 Ultra. Is the stick-on tape strong enough to hold the back plate to the phone without glue?
@@brians2711 hi, I retract my advice in the video you may use B7000 glue which is good for phone repairs. The double sided tape alone is enough to fix the phone. I recommend now to do b7000 if you want or don't want but either way please avoid water. There's no certainty it will keep water resistance even with b7000 glue applied. Hope this help solve your question.
Nice video, I just received my S21 Ultra today and the back cover and screen are not centered on the frame. Leaving a sharp edge on one side of the device. Really pissed about that. Hopefully I can exchange it...
Wow, I recommend that you exchange it for another S21ultra. Getting this straight / fix can arose other issues (possibly damaging the screen if not removed properly). You get another device if you can 👍🏽
I just took off my case to put my phone in A workout armband-and the back is shattered. I dont even know how it happened. How could I shatter the back, but not the front glass when the phone has been in a case tbe whole time? Im so confused brother.
Mine spontaneously cracked so you're not alone. My guess is its to do with stress on the phone thats happened at some time. My phone is otherwise perfect.
😅 these things happen sometimes it's barely understandable. The back is more prone to damage because the tape hold the glass only at the edge of the device. The rest of the area is free as opposed to the screen which is glued to the frame and a clear glass glued and cured on top of the screen layers. You might have out some kind of pressure with your arm that at the right angle cracked the back glass
Legend, thank you so much. My s21 ultra has moisture under the camera even though I don't use it in water, I think the seal between the glass and the metal has failed :/ gonna buy new glass and install that as well as the b7000 glue you used
@@ersbit Okay thank you! Somehow the moisture went away on its own and my cameras work again lol, I'm still going to take it apart and replace the adhesive and stuff with a new adhesive template and b7000, probably going to replace the battery at the same time, I have everything except the battery rn, need to find a way of removing the back glass as I don't have my heat gun :/
Quick question, I just got my screen replaced on my s21 and the black bezel seems to go in further than it originally did. I can see the bezel even with my case on. Is this normal?
It will and can seal the device properly but water resistance will not be the same specially with b7000. I recommend avoiding water after a B7000 repair.
Yes. It seems original and with the same type/color tape as the one in the device when I opened it the first time. Just make sure the tape is that gray/green color (confirm from seller or pictures) before you purchase. ***Check my Note 20 Ultra back glass replacement video that one had black tape very thin (that kind of tape is not original and not oem quality) I got a new back glass after that video to redo the back glass because it was coming off.
@@ersbit I want to make sure that the other day I bought a vimour back cover for the s21 ultra and in the film that the black color was marked with fingerprints so that the same thing does not happen to me again
Hey, I looked on Samsung but there is no trace of back glass repair cost. They have screens repair cost. I will guess maybe half the price of screen replacement in Samsung Authorized repair shop.
If you change it yourself not going to cost much only the part cast. You just want à phantom black back cover from an aesthetic point ✅ Yes people do it to. If it was me I would charge only a small fee and keep the other part, but all shops have their fees
Yes. They can do that for you absolutely. The cost of repair however I don’t know. Samsung website shows only cost of repair for screens. www.samsung.com/us/support/repair/pricing/
I still don’t think it’s gonna be too expensive from a Samsung repair store. However you can have it change in an independent repair shop for maybe 40$
Hey you said that it's made out of plastic but mine most definitely is not. The glass shattered on mine which is why I'm replacing it. So im a little confused. Should these directions work the same? I'm scared of damaging something.
Personally I still think it's gonna be water resistant, but it's all dépend on the quality of the tape used and how the qualified the tech is. I wouldn't consider it like a brand new device sealed conditions. Before If you could submerge 5 minutes now I will recommend 2 minutes after a repair
@@ersbit ok, thats good. I just wanted to know that, cuz it happends that it falls in the sink when im doin something or like that. But good to hear that! Thank you for your fast answer.!!
I think if done right the device will still be waterproof. You just have to keep in mind that it may not be the same water resistance as if it was brand new.
Hey, I would still be a bit scared of playing in water because you never know really. Even devices from Samsung (unopened) can get damage in water, so you will need to be carefull if you want to play in water.
Who are you kidding? "Back cover made of plastic." Really? I'd LOVE to know where you got a flagship Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra with a plastic back cover. I have one that I had to replace the back cover on twice now. If the back was made out of plastic I never would've had to replace it once. And you're saying it's made of plastic? No.
Not completely agreeing, the s21ultra I had in the video the back seem more like a plastic material than glass. Also online am seing only scratches nothing shattered like s20plus back glass. You might be right for s21 I haven't touched that yet 😅. I'll later break the back cover of the 21ultra to check really if it's glass or plastic. That would mean Samsung fooled million of people making them think it's plastic instead of glass 😂
Thank you for your video. It helped me a lot replacing the back cover on my S21 today. I was able to use a regular hair dryer to get the glue soft enough for the guitar picks.
You're most welcome 👋🏽. Alway a pleasure to hear back when everything went well 🙌🏽
The back cover on the S21 ultra is absolutely made out of glass, Homie. Ask anyone that has shattered it
Thanks for your contribution to this small debate
Yea I just shattered mine, definitely glass

It is gorilla glass victus, just the same as the front glass.
Hey i just need to replaced the adhesive not the back cover , do i still need to remove the components on the back cover?
Love you dude! You're the best
You're most welcome 👍🏽
Do you think the tape that comes with the replacement back is enough to keep it from falling off (no glue)? Maybe I should reheat and clamp it just to make sure it sticks well?
It is good enough for the back to steal on the back. I advise adding liquid glue b7000 for it to be better sealed
@ersbit Thank you for the video, it has been extremely useful. I do have a question about using the glue. In the video you said you do not advise using the glue for the S21 Ultra. Is the stick-on tape strong enough to hold the back plate to the phone without glue?

Don't use the original Samsung leather case, it doesn't protect at all. Buy a silicon one.

@@ersbit at least its cheaper than the lcd i broke a few months ago. Screw wireless charging. No reason to make a phone 100% out of glass.

sorry cannot properly visualize what you're pointing? bezel you mean the frame? or you're talking about the back glass and camera bezel?
Excellent work
what are the proper name of the components on the back?
Back Glass, Back Cover, Rear Cover and Battery door are the terms I know. I don't know if Samsung has a special term for it 🤷🏽♂️

how much does it cost to fix the back panel of the samsung s 21 ultra

That was a mistake/tippo while recording the audio
The directions are 1000% the same. You will not damage anything 👍🏽

Yes. Hairdryer will work fine might just take a bit of time maybe 20% more than a heatgun
