I prefer the look of the halogen but if I were to use this in service it would likely need some type of LED conversion to kill the heat. It did look ok but was off balance. Witnout proper weight distribution the bushing components would wear and kill the whole thing. Haven't wanted to spend the money to get a direct MR LED replacement. Difficult to find very narrow spot beams
That turned out surprisingly well. The LEDs looks very "at home" there. I always thought these were a cool concept. Back in the day people were using theater light gels to make them multiple colors.
It fit the area nicely. It threw the weight off balance so it would wear out the bushing if not re balanced. I like the look of the halogen better but this drastically reduces temp and power draw. The color temp is different so that effects the color too but that was to be expected. Still wanted to mock it up. Could add a second off angle for a unique flash too but I'll stick with OEM.
The halogen is roughly 4 amps while the LR11 was bit over 1/2 an amp. The weight difference was big enough to throw it off balance so it would wear out faster without additional modification.
It's so cool and rare to find a lady into warning lights. Is there any chance you're in upstate New York? If we got married, we would be like The Brady Bunch, but with dozens of light bars instead of half a dozen kids.😂
@@MsLightbar Well, now my heart is broken like some of the domes and lenses on light bars that had a bumpy ride getting shipped to me. How did you get interested in lights? Are you a first responder?
When I did this with mine a few years ago, the only benefit I found was the lack of heat it output haha

Just rewatched the video. And, Dang it. I have the Hawaii 5-0 theme song playing in my head.
Welcome to my world. Book em, Danno.🤭🤭🤪😜🤪😜🤯🤯
God I miss my Five-0 light. It was green. I was amazed at the flimsiness of the lens
Halogen is superior
I think the halogen is brighter.
I personally like the look of the halogen better too.
much much brighter
The halogen bulb looked way better
What's the current draw like, compared to the halogen?

Could have grabbed an led warm white bulb
The halogen is way brighter.
