Nice video..would have washed the car first😂
Excellent video guys, thanks for showing the outer door handle removal part of this repair, I've never found a video that shows it in such detail, fantastic, I've ordered the handle to latch cable in anticipation that my clips may be broken too and will attempt the repair soon. Thanks guys, 👏
Really pleased you liked the video! 😁 Hope it’s useful and fingers crossed you get it fixed soon! 🤞🙂🙏 Any problems drop us a message 📧
Just done this not as bad as others have made out
Excellent job thanks for sharing your skills & regards from the Pyrénées Mountains

Cheers gents. Informative video.
Just a quick FYI the talking audio seems a bit quiet.
Between your videos and Powerful UK I will be able to fix anything on my FL2 .. Keep them coming. :)
Thank you! 🙂 Will double check I have the settings right next time!! 😂 More videos coming soon!
Thank you. Most helpful video. I have front and rear door actuators gone. Is the front door actuator a similar process to remove?
Thank you! 🙏🤩 Glad it helped you out. The front door actuator is slightly easier from memory as a little more room. Hope it goes well 💪🙂
This video was so much better than Powerful UK. Not a knock on them, 'cuz I'm thankful for all they do too. But really appreciate your perspective on this, especially putting everything back together. Bonus points 'cuz I have the same colour 2011 LR2 here in Canada.
Not sure if you'll see this, desperately hoping you will, but I have a bit of a conundrum. My door (same rear left passenger) won't open at all! I'm guessing the latch maybe be stuck? I've somehow miraculously removed the door card without breaking anything. Any tips on how I can actually open the door to fix everything? Thanks!
Hello! 😁 Thank you so much for your comment. Really appreciate it, we try our best with the technical videos and hope they are useful for DIY fixes 🙂 We really like the Galway green colour, it’s our favourite.
Ok, with the door, is it not opening from either the outside or inside or both? It could be one of the cables have broken but very unusual if both have snapped. Try getting someone to pull the handle from the outside and then really push/budge/kick the door outwards to try and budge the sticky latch.
It does sound rather strange, but a similar thing happened to me where I became trapped inside the car and had to hop out the passenger side. The door would open from the outside and we found one of the cables had snapped.
Let us know how you get on, we hope you get it sorted 🙏🧰
@@FrenchiesRoadTrips The Galway green is definitely my favourite as well. I was lucky and got this one with orange seats. I think that's super rare. Don't even know what the name of the colour is.
Yeah, the door is not opening from both outside and inside. A local mechanic (non-LR specialist) suggests we may have to use brute force to get the door open, but unsure what will be damaged in the process. I'm holding out in hopes that there is some internal latch release mechanism that I can access.
Will keep you posted if anything develops.
@@michaellee347 Wow orange seats! That is rather rare, I’d have to check the brochure to see what colour name they are 🙂 Let us know how you get on with the door, keeping fingers crossed 🤞🙏
@@FrenchiesRoadTrips UPDATE!!! I fixed the lock! It rained heavily one weekend and suddenly the door just opened. Didn't want to take a chance so I immediately started disassembling everything according to your video and ordered the replacement door actuator part at a local dealership. Couple days later, part comes in and a quick hour install and it's working like new! Thanks again for your video. I lost count how many times I viewed it, but it was excellent!
@@michaellee347 Wow! 😁 That’s great to hear! So glad you managed to fix it 🙏 Really happy you found our video helpful 😁 Always happy to help 😁
Great video....
Can you tell me please the codes for rear back locks cables...on left hand I can't open the door only from inside and on the right hand doesn't block the door when I look only if I push the small black think.
Thank you! 🙏 We don’t know the codes, so sorry! When you press the lock button on the key fob sitting in the car, you should see if the black latch by the handle moves. If it doesn’t, this usually means the door actuator is at fault. Hope this helps 🙂
@@FrenchiesRoadTrips Hi mate, I got a terrible problem on my freelander 2 2010 , passenger side door key barrel can turn, but it wouldn’t allow me open the door manually 😢 is there the problem of the cable that connect the key barrel to the latch? If it is ,could you please help me out on solving this🙏 thanks mate
@@YJ9868 Hello! 👋 That’s strange. Have you checked the door is locking and unlocking with the key fob?
@@FrenchiesRoadTripsglad to got your reply! Yes sir, I have checked it, key barrel can turn both way, door handle can pull , but it just wouldn’t open the door😢
@@YJ9868 Ahhh ok, I wonder if the cable which connects from the actuator to the handle inside has come off. It might be worth taking the door trim off, it’s similar to the rear door. We’ve had this happen before when the cable connection has broken off inside the door connected to the actuator.
Lovely Freelander ❤🧡💛💚💙
I encountred troubles from time to time on the rear
