The court cases were ridiculous. Allowing a girl to wreck a $250,000 building because she’s 1/8 native and the building was on her ancestors land was insanely laughable.
Ex parte communication is not allowed. Both the judge talking directly to the defendant and "suggesting" he accepts the plea and talking to the lawyer in chambers with the other party. I can understand that the show has good intentions to try to make those situations more relatable, but don't thay have any consultants to help bring to life something more real? The prossecution might waive conflict, but if they don't, that lawyer could get disbarred for that. And the judge removed after review de from the judicial conduct committee. I know that the law may vary depending on the state, but I don't think that is allowed anywhere
Ex-parte is when the judge speaks with the defendant without counsel present. Both counsel was present. Therefore, what she did was fine. Now the encouragement of the plea was a thin line crossed.

A lot of people love this show. Why did they take it off the air? That was ridiculous.
It was corny with lackluster viewer numbers

Great show. Great clip. But wouldn’t that be ex parte communication? I have no clue but wondered.
Never seen the show. But the woman in the thumbnail of the video looks like Jada Pinkett.
a little, but she played on the show Marvel: Luke Cage as Misty Knight
❤
