I said the same thing... like I keep seeing these rap lists of “fastest female kpop rapper” and she’s like number 3 which is good but it’s like we crave her raps bc she’s got such an amazing natural delivery but her raps live are always SO much better than studio and same with her vocals. It’s confusing to me how she always sounds better live than in the studio stuff.... like how does that remotely make sense? Usually it’s opposite but even the studio stuff stifles her talent... I think that for all of blackpink actually there are certain things they kinda tone down for group stuff to make it flow better... like Lisa dancing ... we obviously know she’s like one of the best female dancers in kpop and globally as well... but the videos are pretty mellow choreo for Lisa for sure but even as you see with like rose she has really become an amazing dancer... but that’s not what they want her to be known for ... so from rose we get vocals.... amazing vocals... but in groups she’s shown she’s got a knack for dance especially since she hadn’t ever danced before training which is crazy. With jisoo it’s like they want her to stay very much a representation of Korea... the culture, the traditional styles for her , the way she’s portrayed is very much more in line with other female kpop idols even though bp did a lot different on purpose. I think it was to remain able to keep that type of fan while trying to embark into western markets and global fame. Think about why jisoo doesn’t speak English mostly ever really... like we always hear that jennie is jisoos English teacher and always has been. We know they took classes to learn other languages... Lisa was not allowed to speak to anyone in Thai and she didn’t speak Korean and was roughly forced to learn and could speak English with Jennie. There’s even videos showing she understands everything that is said and knowing the kind of student jisoo was in school.. I find it very unlikely that after what like 8 years of English around her... that she still can’t speak it or understand it fluently. Her little catch phrases that are slightly wrong in English that we all think is cute... I think it’s partially played up for that effect which is nothing wrong... it’s actually pretty damn brilliant if you think of how they’re all branded and kind of what individually they represent. I love their differences but it just feels like they hold certain parts of them back publicly for a reason. It’s just hard to watch and listen knowing all of that. Typically in kpop it’s common for solo content to show their talent and show them as the total package... it’s insane that they have so few songs and that after 4 years after debut that we still only have one solo... like it’s damn near way passed the time that we should even be getting solo jennie songs... let alone anything solo debuted for them all. It’s like they’re raking in the money but have been given very little to work with. I know people think bc they comeback so little compared to what’s standard in kpop... that’s just another tactic to make ppl want to get their hands on any and everything that we can which to an extent I agree with... but to be taking this long is truly just huge missed opportunities for every single one of them. Even with “the album” which was their FIRST “full” album... even though three songs were released before the album dropped, there are 2 collab songs, and there was like 8 songs on it I believe?!?!? That is not right. Unless they start turning out new songs, videos once a month this year then it’s like what the hell is yg doing and waiting for? They’ve all got brand deals and doing stupid commercials... I mean yeah sure they’re good opportunities... but why is the most content in the last year or two them doing commercials instead of music? I think that for all of blackpink actually there are certain things they kinda tone down for group stuff to make it flow better... like Lisa dancing ... we obviously know she’s like one of the best female dancers in kpop and globally as well... but the videos are pretty mellow choreo for Lisa for sure but even as you see with like rose she has really become an amazing dancer... but that’s not what they want her to be known for ... so from rose we get vocals.... amazing vocals... but in groups she’s shown she’s got a knack for dance especially since she hadn’t ever danced before training which is crazy. With jisoo it’s like they want her to stay very much a representation of Korea... the culture, the traditional styles for her , the way she’s portrayed is very much more in line with other female kpop idols even though bp did a lot different on purpose. I think it was to remain able to keep that type of fan while trying to embark into western markets and global fame. Think about why jisoo doesn’t speak English mostly ever really... like we always hear that jennie is jisoos English teacher and always has been. We know they took classes to learn other languages... Lisa was not allowed to speak to anyone in Thai and she didn’t speak Korean and was roughly forced to learn and could speak English with Jennie. There’s even videos showing she understands everything that is said and knowing the kind of student jisoo was in school.. I find it very unlikely that after what like 8 years of English around her... that she still can’t speak it or understand it fluently. Her little catch phrases that are slightly wrong in English that we all think is cute... I think it’s partially played up for that effect which is nothing wrong... it’s actually pretty damn brilliant if you think of how they’re all branded and kind of what individually they represent. I love their differences but it just feels like they hold certain parts of them back publicly for a reason. It’s just hard to watch and listen knowing all of that. Typically in kpop it’s common for solo content to show their talent and show them as the total package... it’s insane that they have so few songs and that after 4 years after debut that we still only have one solo... like it’s damn near way passed the time that we should even be getting solo jennie songs... let alone anything solo debuted for them all. It’s like they’re raking in the money but have been given very little to work with. I know people think bc they comeback so little compared to what’s standard in kpop... that’s just another tactic to make ppl want to get their hands on any and everything that we can which to an extent I agree with... but to be taking this long is truly just huge missed opportunities for every single one of them. Even with “the album” which was their FIRST “full” album... even though three songs were released before the album dropped, there are 2 collab songs, and there was like 8 songs on it I believe?!?!? That is not right. Unless they start turning out new songs, videos once a month this year then it’s like what the hell is yg doing and waiting for? They’ve all got brand deals and doing stupid commercials... I mean yeah sure they’re good opportunities... but why is the most content in the last year or two them doing commercials instead of music? Holy shit I went off on such a tangent and just verbal diarrhead out things about bp that drive me nuts on a video of 7 rings w a little jennie in it and a comment about how we aren’t getting to see jennies true rap potential... and I went off on a rant 😂

She's one of the best female technical rappers in the kpop industry and her popularity is insane in Korea, pretty confusing on how her Main Rapper position isn't treated like a main rapper

Lisa is also a sub vocal, just like in Forever Young, it showed that Jennie can both sing and rap in a song and Lisa got lines while singing. Looking at the older tracks like Boombayah, Whistle, Stay, D4, those have both the girls rapping and singing so the producers can do more than that. Though I know that Jennie is also a lead vocal so I understand why she sings only in some of their songs.
