    I used to play thru a '73 Deluxe Reverb (that I regret selling) but the Rivera Concert I just bought for only $500 (with the Lee Jackson mid mods) is, unbelievably, even more impressive to me. I run an HX Stomp XL through the effects loop in back and it just sounds amazing

    Sounds like a Twin with a little more give.

    I own the same amp, but are you the only one who can produce a good tone with the drive channel of this amp on the video? I was honestly happy because it was like that ♪
    It's a very good tone!

    • @sirvidia
      @sirvidia 2 роки тому +3

      you have to turn the bass down to zero. That helps. It totally muddies everything up in the drive section

      Sirvida , can you help with anymore details of tone setting please , that drive sound was unreal and I've almost given up on mine ,cleans are beautiful and perfect as a pedal platform especially with the boss gx100 I'm using but I can't get anything decent from the drive channel

    Sounds excellent. I have the exact same amp with an Ev12s in it. The only downside to it is that is heavy, 73 lbs with the Ev at 19 lbs. I put casters on mine. Do you know what speaker is in yours? I’d like to make it lighter but hate to mess with the sound since it sound so good.

      It’s the EV speaker in mine too.

    VERY nice...You make some terrific sounds here? But, the sound here is the sound of the processors →through a Super Champ. I had one right when Fender released them and it didn't sound like any Fender that I'd heard or owned. It had a narrow and common voice, the mid boost/distortion was unusable for me and, when boosted, the reverb was taken out of the signal. I got rid of it in about month. I was really caught off guard when they somehow began being talked about because they'd seemed to have entirely vanished from anywhere I was. I also had a Rivera Concert that I gave away because it was so useless to me. I shouldvsay that I do know others who really liked theirs. And I had a Rivera Champ II that it was even being on the market was startling (really horrid that anyone would even chance trying to sell it).
    In my experience, The Super Champ/Rivera era wasn't Fender at all; it was the first step way away from Fender and not the last one from.
    Hey...you've got some really nice things happening in this video...!

      Thanks!! The concert 2 has an fx loop so the delays etc are after gain. The amp distortion sounds pretty good I think if you adjust it correctly.. it’s basically like an old Mesa/Boogie without the graphic EQ.

      Never could make Rivera era work for me and was greatly disappointed every time. You sound great, but it's not the amp that's doing it. The amp is doing the signal from your great effects boxes.
      Again →you sound great!

      @@Da_Xman Well since I’m using the amp gain channel the amp does the heavy lifting in my mind.. the fx are just the icing on the cake IMO.. same with any amp really.

    Sounds fantastic! I had one back in 86-89, and wish I held onto it, and I may track one down now. Question - was any of the overdrive on the video from the lead channel of the amp, or was that all the xotic sl drive?

      From 2 minutes is the amp lead channel

    I'm in the process of purchasing one of these amps and were trying to figure out if it's the first edition or the concert 2 like this one ,is there any chance you could put the serial number in a rely so I can compare them and try and narrow it down please

    Great video man!!! Do you think the concert is the best 12 inch combo from the Rivera era?

    • @KanlydNorge
      @KanlydNorge  3 роки тому +2

      Thanks:) The only other one I’ve play’s was the Deluxe II. Great amp too, but the Concert with the tube buffered fx loop is much more usable I think.

      @@KanlydNorge what does the tube suffered effects loop do?

    • @KanlydNorge
      @KanlydNorge  3 роки тому

      @@levijessegonzalez3629 you mean tube buffered fx loop. It’s just what it says a tube buffered loop. It’s line level active. And driven by a tube. Has send and return levels. Etc.

      @@KanlydNorge but how is it different than a non tube loop? warmer sound?

    • @KanlydNorge
      @KanlydNorge  3 роки тому +2

      @@levijessegonzalez3629 until about 10-15 years ago all active loops had tubes in them. And most tube amps still have. But there are some manufacturers today that uses transistor based loops. Back in the that it was either a tube buffered loop or a passive loop. Passive loops are really bad. You could argue that a modern transistor based loop is more transparent. But the standard in tube amps are still a tube buffer.

    Thanks for the video. Lovely sound. I picked up one of these a few years ago. Great to see your settings. Mine sounds just like yours in the video which is great because I was having difficulty figuring out the best settings. It's a fantastic amp. It's no Marshall but it takes the Pedal board like a champ, tremolo, chorus, echo, boss OD. I will put it in for a service since the speaker sounds a little muddy and farts out a wee bit. Might change the speaker. Anybody got any recommendations?.

      Try Tonespeak Austin 1250
      They have a channel so look them up and have a listen. Not sure if the 1250 will have the wattage to handle a concert amp but they have a good line of products to choose from at a good price to boot.
