If you are running that chlorinator for 8 hours , consider using pool stabilizer. I have roughly the same size pool as you have but only run my QS500 for 2 hours a day. Pool Stabilizer makes a huge difference.

I have mine on fp they say run for 24 hours. After that do I do boost for the 40 hours and when boost is on does that mean filter pump and chlorinator are on together? I guess I’m getting confused .. TIA
When you have the boost on for that amount of time, you need to also run the filter,it needs to be pumping the water in order for the boost to create chlorine in the pool

That and pool salt should be all you need.
I did the white vinegar in my salt generator for two hours and it still does a 91 code I put six forty pound bags

I put salt once a season. It will depend on the pool size, but mine was about six bags.

Yes boost is like adding extra chlorine.

You plug it in at the time you want it to start and then set the schedule.

I added about four bags. It depends on the size of your pool.

I would try 5 bags and then test water, but I would guess 6 bags.
