I don't care what critics say, I liked this game. Yes, the controls were a little messy and the live action cutscenes were cheesy, but the game itself was still a heck of a lot of fun.
I could never get past the shitty controls. I still have the game & the controls still annoy me. Even though I still beat it and thoroughly played it. I was massively annoyed the entire time.
Good times I presume? My brother used to get stuck on the earth temple level and I couldn't stop laughing when he kept getting pissed at the levitating monks.
bi-han was indeed the truth and more experienced thats why quan-chi couldn't fuck with him and had to have scorpion kill him. but kuei liang does have more moves than bi-han.
Daniel Maxwell I watched mk legacy, quan chi morphed into sub zero somehow and killed scorpion, his clan and family then resurrected scorpion and told him he will kill sub zero at the tournament.
Bi-Han is the true embodiment of the Lin Kuei: ruthless and loyal! He dared to question Quan Chi about Scorpion (and the ninja speech), but never the Grandmaster himself.
I'd say Bi-Han was the most complete Lin Kuei, Kuai became the more complete Cryomancer. Can't exactly compare their abilities since Bi-Han's were never truly fleshed out like Kuai Liang's is, Bi-Han's only real shining time was during this game. The Kuai Liang we know now during MKX and MK11 is far ahead in age and experience than Bi-Han was before his death, so of course he'd come off as far better. But you have to remember something, in this game Bi-Han was able to single-handedly defeat four guardian Gods including Fujin himself, Hanzo/Scorpion(even when Scorpion was in the Netherrealm which makes him even more powerful), Quan Chi, and survived an encounter with Shinnok with his Amulet. So yeah, I think Bi-Han would have grown to become far more powerful than Kuai had he survived. The one thing Bi-Han did have as a Cryomancer over Kuai though was the Polar Blast, a literal flash freeze that freezes everything around him instantly.

Came here because of... you know who... The soundtrack of this game is amazing!
"ERK-AH-UH-UH-AH-OOOHHHH!" SPLEEAAARRRKKK!" - Sound effect of Sub-Zero executing his 6-hit combo, sending the monk flying and out cold on the pavement.
Sub Zero Mythologies ❤️❤️❤️
I remember when I first got this game for the N64 for christmas. I think I was somewhere between 9 and 12 years old, but I do know this much: the first 5 seconds of this song made me scared as heck to even play the first level! Didn't help that the Menu screen song was omninous itself, but this song combined with Scropion monking you.... That's enough to startle a young MK fan. Damn I love this song!
MKM:SZ doesn't deserve all the criticism that it gets. The OST is the reason why I loved the game in the first place. Especially this particular tune. It set the mood for the game.
The good ol Days, back when Bi-Han was alive as Sub-Zero going on a quest for his clan’s honor, and running into his ultimate rival Hanzo Hasashi as Scorpion who is also alive at this point in the original timeline. Long live Hanzo Hasashi, you will be missed bro, may you finally have peace somewhere with your wife and son in Liu Kang’s new universe.
I always wondered why they only gave this to Sub Zero. It’s called Mortal Kombat Mythologies. I would assume they’d make a series starring each of the main characters with their own story. Playing as either Scorpion or Raiden woulda been cool :)
From what I heard, Shaolin Monks was supposed to start off with Raiden as the main character, and the planned sequel to that would’ve focused on Scorpion and Sub-Zero.
@Nicksolo85 I remember that to this Day! lol. I found this game again back in 2004 right when they were phasing out ps1 games. My friend looked at me funny when I asked if gamestop had this game. This game is the awesome
I like this game because of the care the producers went to explore the over all jist of mks spirit. The ninjas mainly. With this being the most heroic foretelling of the good guy vs the bad guy i can from here see an interier world beyond the tournament. With this new life mk has expanded becoming more in depth. Sub zero was a alot talked about ninja and alot of ppl out there see him as the good guy, rather than lui kang and raiden, they make it more in real life sort of basis rather than sub zero, the overall mk feeling of flight and fight and fantasy. Very good. I like it when games can go in depth and be the same with thier beginning. Lui kang being the main hero seems to old and much to anakin skywalker sort of place. Mk needs a ninja hero.
I hated the fucking booby traps and yes, the game did feel shittyish overall (granted, Richard Divizio did great as Quan Chi in the cutscenes), but the soundtrack is easily among the awesomest ever in the franchise.

Not gonna say anything about the AI?
@@edward7434 About how they commit suicide?
n64 version without the cutscenes made the game better imo
And funny in my opinion

Scorpion: You will fail, ha ha ha ha ha ha!! *Runs away*
"20 minutes later"
Sub Zero: You were saying.
Scorpion: What I meant to say back there was spare me.

Lmao yeah ! Long as we don't get smashed by Dem pillars!!
20 minutes?! More like 2 minutes hahaha. I speedrun this game, so after 20 minutes I'm already in the water temple lol.
@@gajeelredfox2423 weird flex but okay

My brother and I used to leave our N64 on to play music while we played with toys. Many fell to their deaths to this song lol.

This Sub-Zero, Bi-Han, is the best Lin Kuei warrior ever.

Bi-Han was a Superb warrior, But not as his brother is. Kuai Liang is the true grandmaster of the Lin Kuei.

That soundtrack gave 90% of the game's vibe... scary and tense.
What a wonderful track! I can't get enough of it. Way better than the entirety of MK11's soundtrack.
type of shit you have on your ipod when you are doing ninja shit
lol
this is the nintendo 64 soundtrack.
how i know that? the ps1 version echoes.

Best game ever, best soundtracks ever..
I don't mind the cheesy cutscenes, the music and the backgrounds were great, but I wouldn't dare to say the controllers were a "little" messy thou.
As flawed as this game may be, I never get tired of it. I have mastered it and love it. Flaws don't necessary mean no fun.
Also, man, the music :)
This beat actually helps me focus! It's soothing, calm, and it releaseses the inner ninja inside on me.
Hearing monks go "Oogh! ugh! ugh! Ah! Owwww!" Comes to mind.
TEE-HEE COME GET ME SUB ZERO

They ought to make this into an animated movie like they did with scorpion
They'd need to bring back Tobias for that
