I am on my second day of TSM, buddy your description of how it feels to drink on Naltrexone is literally spot on. I absolutely love it and in 2 days am amazed. I was under the impression that the drug completely blocked any alcohol feeling all together....it doesn’t, just changes it and almost takes the “want more” feeling away. This is a big adherence advantage me. The bike analogy is perfect. I know I am only on day 2 but I feel amazing and am shocked how well I feel. Thanks for comments, both of you.
I’m going to stat this week. I’m a musician and am constantly around alcohol and constantly being offered alcohol. I’d love to share my results to help others. If this works, it’ll change my life.
Great talk, thank you. As a gay guy growing up the north of England in the 70s could totally relate the Dallas/ Dynasty stuff!
Good interview....David was a wealth of information.
Hi, thanks for this, I can relate. Just done my first 30 days on Tsm
Hi how's it going on tsm after 3 months thinking of starting it sometime next week?
As a gay man I can feel the comfort that comes from alcohol resonates so strongly. Also I did 5 yrs in AA and I felt the same way: anxious, depressed, exhausted. Just started TSM so hope I have the same results as you! Thanks for sharing your story.
@@thrivealcoholrecoverydear Katie , you might read this comment or not , but I’m going to hope you do,my name is giselle, I was a single mom to my daughter we struggled a lots in this country, but she ended up getting a full scholarship for visual arts , she went to college and a year after abandoned her carrier , she’s now 28 rears old and a full blown alcoholic, was diagnosed with alcoholic hepatitis, the doctors told her If she keeps drinking she will die, yet she keeps drinking, she went to see a psychiatrist and they prescribed her with antidepressants and medicine for anxiety. Now she’s mixing those pills with alcohol and gets very crazy is terrifying to me, she doesn’t live with, in fact she is staying at a hotel, the whole thing is very scary, sad, and dangerous, I don’t know how to help her, I was able to get these pills the ones you mentioned in the video, one hundred of them and gave them to her but she’s afraid to take them ( the irony here), I don’t know if she can take this medication in combination with the antidepressants, maybe you can help me with some information, she doesn’t have health insurance, her life is a complete mess, I don’t have extra money for doctors or therapy, all I know is that this a matter of live and death, we need help, thank you 🙏🏼
Thank you David.
This guy is beautifully articulate!
Just re-listened to this interview...impeccable!!!...Quite possibly the BEST interview/exchange on Embody Health Katie!,,,,Highly appreciated David's perspective/addressing "the Alcohol Deprivation Effect" ...and how TSM can help with this, often unspoken of component of AUD...How inspiring to see ...alcohol as NOT being "The Main Event" ...and no longer dominating one's life. Insightful...beneficial...all of it! Myriad 'merci's' to you both.
Brilliant ...generous share of such sobriety/alcohol treatment lucidity David...Immense thanks to both you and Katie.
Yep ADD here, started at the age of 14, today i am actually starting with the TSM method :)
Thanks for sharing. I especially appreciated David talking about how the treatment could be so beneficial when people are at the early stages of mentioning having a drinking problem to their doctor. I definitely want to contribute to de-stigmatizing AUD and seeking treatment for AUD. Thanks again Katie and David, I am glad to have this video to suggest to people who are curious.
Took my first half pill of naltrexone this morning, feeling a little nausea and tiredness. Does these side effects usually wear off after some time?
@@sumtxflygrl1 Yes, I’ve been taking 25 mg per day for about a week now and the nausea is almost gone. However I do feel a bit tired after I take the pill, but it usually wears off after an hour or so :)
Side effects do go away for most people after the first week or so. Nausea is common as is being tired. That is why most doctors advise people to start at a lower dose. But yes for most people they do go away after you've adjusted to the medication within a week or two. I hope that helps!

I’m a single mother, my daughter is now 28 and a gull blown alcoholic, I don’t have means to take her to doctors , specialists etc, she has been diagnosed with alcoholic hepatitis, I didn’t know what to do, can someone point me somewhere here?I was able to buy from India 100 of these pills , she won’t take them, she’s mixing antidepressants and alcohol 😢
I’m so sorry this is happening. That’s so hard. 😥Where are you based? Maybe try this place volpicellicenter.com/ or riahealth.com
@@thrivealcoholrecovery thank you for replying. We’re based in in Miami, thank you 🙏🏼
How do i obtain naltrexone?
Hi! A physician needs to prescribe it, any doctor can, but some will not simply because they lack awareness or experience with it. We have a private online program where we can refer you to a physician for the prescription here in the United States. I will leave a link to our website here 🙏 www.thrivealcoholrecovery.com/

I came across this page because I'm so tired of drinking. Im so tired of fighting with my mind and feelings of drinking. I know that I'm an alcoholic. I stop drinking in my 40s. 10 years of no drinking w/AA. BUT in 2018 is started drinking again feel because of the world was upsidedown. I would stop for a month or so, but I start back and its a Bing for a week and feel miserable after. I need and want to stop drinking. I looked around internet and found Oar Health and ordered something called Naltrexone. I'm weak, but I need to try. I'm tired and I dont want to drink. Do you knoe about Oar Health?
