  • People in Israel have been ordered to head back to work, after its labour court ordered an end to the general strike at 14:30 local time (12:30 BST).
Israel's biggest trade union says hundreds of thousands of people joined its general strike, aimed at forcing the government to secure a hostage release deal with Hamas.
Roads were blocked, some hospitals reduced services, and banks were closed.
Now, workers have been ordered to go back to their jobs, says Arnon Bar-David, the head of Histadrut, the union which organised Monday's strikes.

The Oslo Accords and the Arab-Israeli Peace Process
On September 13, 1993, Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Negotiator Mahmoud Abbas signed a Declaration of Principles on Interim Self-Government Arrangements, commonly referred to as the “Oslo Accord,” at the White House. Israel accepted the PLO as the representative of the Palestinians, and the PLO renounced terrorism and recognized Israel’s right to exist in peace. Both sides agreed that a Palestinian Authority (PA) would be established and assume governing responsibilities in the West Bank and Gaza Strip over a five-year period. Then, permanent status talks on the issues of borders, refugees, and Jerusalem would be held. While President Bill Clinton’s administration played a limited role in bringing the Oslo Accord into being, it would invest vast amounts of time and resources in order to help Israel and the Palestinians implement the agreement. By the time Clinton left office, however, the peace process had run aground, and a new round of Israeli-Palestinian violence had begun.

no matter who pulled the trigger Netanyahu has blood in his hands.
His government knew that Hostages were being held in Gaza, but taking the land was more important to them than the lives of their own people. so they spent 11 months denying access to basic necessities (food, water and medical care) whilst simultaneously bombing to the point where they have razed it to the ground. Nowhere was safe- they hit hospitals, schools, mosques, Churches, Charity buildings and Headquarters.
What *exactly* did Israel expect? Did they think that the hostages would just "miraculously survive" that kind of onslaught for 11 months and come out unscathed? These are the same people who shot three escaped hostages, three of their own, after they clearly identified themselves and asked for help. They also shot their own people on October the 7th.
Normal, everyday Israelis need to understand that their leadership cares more about eradicating Palestine than it ever will about the lives of its own people, to the point where they are sacrificing them to reach their goals.

I hope Israelis can wake up to this the same way Palestinians will have to realize Hamas doesnt care for them either. Hamas is Iran after all. But same concept:
Both sides' people had been so far made to believe that their government cares for them and acts in their interest, when in fact the ones leading them all have their personal goals to achieve. Even at the cost of peace and humanity. Netanyahu and hamas both gotta go. Both are deplorables that need to be held accountable. Both have exploited the pain for their personal agenda and war.

OThe Oslo Accords and the Arab-Israeli Peace Process

The assassination of Yitzhak Rabin, the fifth prime minister of Israel, took place on 4 November 1995 (12 Marcheshvan 5756 on the Hebrew calendar) at 21:30, at the end of a rally in support of the Oslo Accords at the Kings of Israel Square in Tel Aviv. The assailant was Yigal Amir, an Israeli law student and ultranationalist who radically opposed prime minister Yitzhak Rabin's peace initiative, particularly the signing of the Oslo Accords.

27 prisoners were killed in captivity in the Gaza Strip.
The prisoners were killed by the Zionist bombing, and if President Biden is concerned about their lives, he should stop supporting the enemy.
      - We were more concerned about the lives of the prisoners than Biden, so we agreed to his proposal and the Security Council resolution, while Netanyahu rejected them….

Netanyahu was using this war for his own interests, it’s never about hostages. It’s about more settlements and his stay in power. If it was about Israel hostages, then he wouldn’t be bombing tunnels where hostages are, he would go for a deal, that he has often abandoned at last minute when Hamas has agreed. 1200 are killed and you kill 42000, that’s insane. You go for a full blown war when you know 200 of your people are still hostages or without thinking what Hamas would do to your people held as hostages? To me seems like Oct 7th was a bait for Israel to hook Hamas.

The Israeli protesters are addressing their government and they have the right to free speech to do so as Israeli citizens. In Gaza, Palestinians do not have that freedom and risk their lives protesting against Hamas, who have routinely executed protesters as dissenters or colluding with Israel.
