Haven’t seen this dude in so long I thought it was another channel doing a parody style for a second lol fake fan self expose for the first minute. I’m very glad cuz his lethal stuff was indeed fantastic
6:10 realizing creepers explode more quickly after falling is kinda a revelation. i think subconsciously i always thought they just started igniting during the fall but that explains so much
yeah, I recently lost a 3 week hardcore minecraft world to a creeper landing on me while I was collecting diamonds and exploding instantly. I was full netherite, but such is the way of the creeper.
Honestly this is a very natural transition in content. Most people know you as the “lethal company AI” guy, so covering other games enemies’ AI and becoming the “video game AI” guy actually makes perfect sense. Good video!
More fun facts: If a creeper with a status effect (such as slowness, regeneration, strength, etc) explodes, it’ll leave a cloud of potion particles that function like a lingering potion, giving you the effect if you walk through it. (Only on Java Edition, though.) If a creeper calculates that it will survive a fall, it will attempt to fall onto players. I’ve been assassinated like this more times than I can count. :'D You can force creepers to explode by using a flint and steel. Not the most practical way of dealing with them, but it works. Despite having no arms, creepers _can_ climb ladders. Many have learned this the hard way. A lot of people know this already, but creepers came into existence when Notch messed up when modeling pigs.
Idea for hardcore: Creepers are inmune to negative status effects but weak to positive effects Creepers with status effects don't leave craters and has less blast damage, but an increased blast and effect radius Creepers with effects have less damage reduction on waster than usual Creepers with effects have a glowing face corresponding to the effect 30% chance of spawning with an effect naturally
iirc no mobs (except spiders) are coded to climb ladders, but they can accidentally climb ladders. I.e. Mobs don't know about ladders or how to use them.
Around 7-9 years of playing this game, and this is the first time I'm learning creepers explode faster after taking fall damage. One more reason to be cautious in ravines
@cloudboyistrash Same, there's been multiple occasions throughout my time playing where a creeper has blown up faster than usual. I always thought I was either experiencing lag or going insane
@@alteregosocial Personally would write down the hazard level and have a new hostility type. Hazard level tells us how dangerous the mob is and hostility type tells us if it’s outright hostile or if we need to provoke it first. It makes more sense than just changing hazard level to hostility since a zombie isn’t going to be as dangerous as say an enderman. I think combining the two would be best.
I’ve been playing Minecraft for years and I didn’t know about the falling thing or the fact that you can reduce most explosion damage by protecting your lower half specifically. That’s really neat.

They spawn a lingering cloud if they explode while having a status effect. Also you showed in the video too but didn't actually say that flint and steel forces them to detonate regardless of their target, making it a pretty handy counter and sometimes useful in PvP. You can abuse the creepers AI, by running straight through a creeper and not stopping the creeper will always explode and you will take minimal damage.
6:41 Hey that's what killed me and my friend in one of our hardcore worlds; we lived in a ravine and accidentally left the door of our house open, I was feeding our chickens near the door and she was smelting iron (to make our first pieces of armor) and a creeper just fell from the top of the ravine and exploded immediately, killing both of us and all but one chicken.
