so its a good idea going to st johns to get one..... we also would like to go to the guess you would call fun spots SOGGY DOLLAR BAR,, COW WRECK BEACH,,, BOMBAS SHACK,,
My family wanted to split a 7 day vacation between St John and BVI. Is that advisable or is it better to just do a day trip to BVI? How do i get around with say a suitcase?
Get a rental on St. John....message me on Facebook if you’re looking for specific recommendations. Check the people ferry schedule on St. John before you arrive. Do the people ferry to Jost Van Dyke one day. If you want a second BVI day, take the people ferry to Virgin Gorda. Another option is to get a captain for a private charter and hit up Norman Island, Jost and Virgin Gorda all in one day.
@@anirvanmitra My pleasure. Check out my "Blue Tang St. John USVI Walkthrough" video. I stayed there for over a week and it's awesome! It has multiple bedrooms, a pool and overlooks Great Cruz Bay (where the Westin is).
Irixguy,,,,like ur video. You are right about things down there. Not like in USA. Reservations really don’t mean that much some times, they go on their own speed or attitude. But beautiful island (st. John at least)
thanks for advice I'm planning a trip for 2017 late spring and I am researching and I was suspecting that renting a vacation place would be cheaper than hotels I was just worried about traveling and food and you make it sound so easy...do you know if they have any zip lining and must you have diver experience to dive? thanks again
+Dawn Eisele There is zip-lining on St. Thomas in the jungle canopy. I always take non-perishable food in a checked bag down. Sure it usually costs money to check a bag but that food quickly pays for itself. Hotels are $$$$. Vacation rentals are the only way to do it. It a big lunch out if you want to dine out vs. dinner which is typically more expensive. When I travel I enjoy all of the same things that people beside me are but I'm not the one spending five or six times more per night plus food :). Remember most all food is imported and that is why it costs so much there :)
Hey man, thank you for all the information. I'm in the early planning stages of planning my first trip of this kind. On average, about how cheap should I expect airfare from Minnesota to St. Thomas to be? I'm not sure what to look for in this regard. Do a lot of people rent out apartments for ~$100 a night there or was it kinda lucky for you to find that deal?
UNSCleric Hey bud I dropped you a message via your UA-cam with some detailed info. Feel free to e-mail me via IrixGuy.com too. I'll be happy to provide you with some USVI and BVI travel advice. My wife and I are adventure travelers and maximize our fun on a budget.
+Chuck W I'm in the USVI frequently. It's a better place to visit than live IMO. With almost everything imported, day-to-day life can become very expensive.
IrixGuy's Adventure Channel I’m planning on going next year 2020. From your experience what is the best island to stay inn? I would like to be in a very clean & clear beach🥰 Renting a jeep car is it just only from the airport to the hotel? Or you can rent for a week? How much does it cost? Any restaurants you would recommend? Thank you an advance 😊
Check out my Discount Car VI St. Thomas video. Don’t confuse them with the big brand Discount. Discount Car VI is the place that I always use for St. Thomas and St. John. They meet me at Cyril E. King airport with my Jeep and I ferry it over to St. John. When I return, they drop me off at the airport in my Jeep. The experience is always first-class and I refuse to rent from anyone else.
Drop me a message via my Facebook fan page or my website and I'll happily reply with link. You might also try Googling "Discount Car Rental St. Thomas"
*Bring a fishing pole and take your fresh fish back to the apartment and cook it with vegetables from the grocery store.*
That's the best way to do fish no doubt!
Ive been taking your advice, especially with car rental. Discount is out of cars, but im staying local and trying to get a car from J&J rentals
Call Discount Car VI (not the chain...it's a local outfit) and tell them that Captain IrixGuy referred you.
marina market is out of business but a place called Moe's is in that space but its pretty much the same kind of store
+Cawfee Dawg Cool

St. John is the best place to stay because food prices are lower and it has the largest quantity of beaches (most of St. John is a National Park).
Thank you so much for the information. Appreciate it!

Very true! “Island Time.”
The only airline that flies to BVI is Cape Air. They operate small airplanes from Puerto Rico. Should one be worry flying these planes?
+Alex Koltsov I fly into St. Thomas and catch the ferry to the BVIs. It's much easier and likely less expensive.
If I have a nonstop flight from Miami to st Thomas and return from st Thomas to Miami, I don’t need a passport if I’m just visiting at Thomas do I?
I always take a passport with me to visit the BVIs

Great practical recommendations. How long were you there? Would you ever consider moving to USVI?

From the United States yes a passport is required.
Gah there is so much =) Just renting a Jeep and driving tip to tip is the best way to do it. So many beaches, places to eat, etc.

Can one find great deals for extended stay such as 30-60-90 day stays?
You may find a rental way cheaper that way. Many homes and apartments are empty now because they lost the oil company.
of course - check on VRBO. it boggles my mind that people need to ask questions like that rather be able to figure it out for themselves.
How do I do to rent a car in St. John’s ? After get off the ferry

It depends on what country you’re from.
