NICE VIDEO. May i ask a question .When we look at the structure of the amoeba cell the contractile vacuoles are observed . As the contractile vacuole collects excess in the cell (hypotonic) and it discharges to the environment (hypertonic) can we say that is one of the roles of osmosis excretion of excess water by amoeba.
While osmosis does a play a role in the movement of water into the cell cytoplasm, the working of the contractile vacuoles does not directly rely on osmosis. The contractile vacuole has a collection system that actively pumps water and some dissolved solutes into its sac from the cytoplasm.. Once the vacuole is full, it contracts and forces the excess water and mineral salts out of the cell.
It depends on what you're planning on using. If it's a visking tubing, then you'd need to fill the V.T with a solution and immerse it in a beaker containing a solution of different concentration. Or you could use plant cells from potato cylinders or leaf petioles and immerse them in a beaker containing a solution with a specific concentration.

Your work is amazing mwalimu..complex concepts made easy
Thanks!
may I ask you a question . what are the materials needed to do an osmosis experiment

It has realy helped me.
Glad to hear that 👊
Can u plz make for active transport plz.
