- The Official Highlight Video from Bruce Irvin's Junior Season at WVU. In 2010 Bruce Irivn recorded 14 Sacks in his first year at WVU after transferring from Mt. San Antonio junior college where he was a JUCO All-American. He figures to only improve upon this breakout performance in 2011.

Diggin it man. So glad you were able to get all that footage. Earlier when I was working on Bruce highlights I had a lot of fun. It was nice to just sit back and look at what he had done in only one year. Just amazing. Turned out great.

the year these highlights are from was the year bruce was a 3rd down ONLY player. In his senior year he played on every play so he had more of an impact during that year. Bruce is the sack specialist

i like how this vid is Bruce Irvin going beast mode, while he now plays with the original BEASTMODE in Seattle.
He had problems in HS..was a model student-athlete at WVU. His recent "arrest" was an absolute joke which was QUICKLY dismissed at the police in Morgantown are actually embarrassed about it. He was beloved by fans, coaches and teammates in his 2 years at WVU. Extremely hard working and just a physical specimen.
The entire WVU football team will be in beast mode this season

And for the record, the 49ers were very, very interested in this dude. Well hey man, gotta cockblock those division rivals, right?
And if you're worried about character problems, he was arrested for burglary after he dropped out of high school, but changed his ways and managed to get to college. That's just a great story of redemption there, and now he can live his dream as a pro NFL defensive end. I'll be rooting for this guy!

Don't forget MEBANE, J. JONES, and WAGNER. Serious talent across the board and very unique players. Extremely difficult for offenses to prepare for.

@uraine7626 right, that was 2010, my mistake. he had 8 in '11, perry had 9.5.
but irvin destroyed the competition with his 40 time, clocked at 4.43, officially a 4.5 .. perry ran a 4.64
irvin also bested perry in agility drills.
perry only wins in strength and vert, and vert doesn't matter for pass rushing.
they're only 3 months apart in age.
perry had 22 sacks in his collegiate career
irvin had 22 between '10 and '11, and if you count his '09 year at mt. san antonio, he had 38 sacks in 3 years.

I am a WVU student and I said the exact same thing. I love this guy to death but the Seahawks could have easily waited till 2nd round and got him and another 1st round quality player. It was the Christian Ponder pick of this year but he will be far more productive. If you use him at OLB then he will be worth it. Way to small to play DE in NFL. Google his 40 to feel better about this pick though lol.
