I coudve been more specific about mechanism of injury to help differentiate Guyon Canal vs. Cubital Tunnel.
As a related aside, for most pathologies if you have surgery as an option it’s usually not correct especially if conservative management hasn’t been tried yet. Of course there are exceptions to this rule but it’s a good generality if you have to totally guess on a question
As another related aside, if the test writer wants you to pick Guyon Canal injury they’re going to explicitly spell out a hook of the hamate fracture / compression handlebar injury.
small tip for beginners: in doubt, choose the cheapest and safest approach.
This is especially important for step 3
This question is interesting. I was thinking "A" because all of the symptoms where in his hand. Guyon's canal could've been inflamed and it would have caused the symptoms. If you can please explain why "E" is still the better option I would be very thankful.
The question needs to specify either a wrist or elbow injury to make that discernment. I've had this exact question on multiple Q banks and they've specified the Mechanism of Injury each time
@@Spencer_Thatcher Yeah, if that's mentioned it would make a lot more sense. Thank you for your input ^-^ .

@@DirtyMedicine I see. For me I didn't know the timing, so in 2 months I thought there would be enough compression that SAIDs/NSAIDs wouldn't be helpful so I went for surgery. But in any case, I think I missed smth. In the question it says (There is weakness particularly when gripping objects) that should've translated to FDP but I just woke up and watched the video so I completely forgot xD. Good question though ^^ .
Thanks
Can you pls do step 2 questions as well?
