    It was filmed in Lagos, Nigeria (Ayra is Nigerian). Leigh’s roots are Caribbean but she’s mentioned that she’s really into Afrobeats

    Leigh-Anne absolutely DEVOURED this song, she's in her element with this one. The video is truly one of the best I've seen in the last few years and it makes the song 10 times better than it already was for me. She killed it and Ayra was a great collab choice. It deserves to be HUGE!!!

      Leigh said that DSL was about leaving her past life behind, and my love is about starting a new one, so they are linked. That's why DSL was the first single

      I think it would’ve been a great debut but I’m glad they did a solo song to showcase just Leigh-Anne!

      Both songs are good but she didn’t need to have another artist to showcase her talent for her debut single.

      I agree. I thought the same as soon as I heard "My Love". I get wanting her debut single to not have a feature, to show off more of her vocals, or because Leigh wanted to do some sort of artistic throughline. But at the end of the day, "Don't Say Love" gave more of "final single" or dope album cut than "lead single". Plus Leigh debuted in the summer and "My Love" would've been a perfect summer single. I hope Leigh can recover the momentum she's lost with the next single, "Stealin' Love".

    LA is Jamaican and Bajan, I believe. The song is afrobeats mixed with some island vibes. Filmed in the one and only Lagos, Nigeria! Ayra is a Nigerian Afrobeats star

    Both leigh -Anne's parents have carribean roots but this song is more of an afrobeats song , the feature ayra Starr is from Nigeria and she has amazing songs such as 'sability' which I think you would enjoy.

    Most part of the video is showing Nigeria, the city Bus is Lagos Nigeria commercial Bus popularly known as Danfo.
    Since Ayra Starr is Nigerian, it sum it all where the Afrobeats taste is coming from

    I love Leigh-Ann so much, but I will agree that the background voices are overpowering. You can tell just how much when you listen to her perform it live. It sounds like the bottom fell out. Her voice is beautiful and she is 30, so her voice has matured. Over the years, I’ve noticed that she has problem with her lower range, most likely because she’s a soprano. She needs a song that fits her range and quieter style. After singing to blend with 3 other women for so long, it can be hard to find your own voice. Still I’m obsessed with this music video and I’ve watched it a hundred times. I can’t wait to hear more from her!❤

    Hi Georgina the video was filmed in Lagos and I believe Leigh Anne is 1/4 jamican? Apparently it's about self love - kind of asking can you handle my love for myself.
    Much better than DSL, it was too monotone, too much going on in the video, this song was lifted from the start and the video is easier to digest

    In my opinion her voice is not as strong as the other ladies in Little Mix. This song is good and the video really helps to elavate the song.

    • @heresqueenie
      @heresqueenie 9 місяців тому +3

      Each girl has a different tone and style which people can mistake as not being "strong". It's about technique. I don't know if Perrie trained professionally since childhood but in the beginning she was much better technically and has a deeper voice so she was dubbed having a stronger voice. Leigh Anne has a much more "feminine" and softer voice and started singing professionally later in life than the others and her nerves were extremely bad the first few years. She and Jade have really perfected their voices and although Perrie typically got the higher notes they both really are technically amazing and hit those high notes easily now. It's unfortunate they hit their stride as a group vocally and musically and thats why Jade didn't want to take a break but as a fan I understand.
