Hi from UK. Just watched all of you G Wagon episodes. Loved it particularly as I too am restoring my own 1982 300GD. Last week I removed all of the axles and suspension from the chassis. Keep up the excellent work guys. 👍
Taking apart a vehicle and reconditioning the parts is less than half the work of a restoration. There is much more work putting it back together. Many videos and television shows don’t show this. Some people think you can put everything back together in a couple days. It doesn’t work that way. Thank you again for sharing your journey with us. This has been entertaining and I look forward to watching the next video.
¡It’s finally starting to come together guys 👌!!! Hey Lasse, as far as LABELING and Identifying wires goes, I find that all you really need is a Notebook, sticky write on labels(1”x3”), number books, (0-45 and 46-90) and fine-point, multi-color Sharpie markers. It works great out on the field (Electrical Const.)This could work well if used in conjunction with Thor’s Electrical Wiring Diagram, ie: Gelb for gen. Electrical system Blau for A/C system Rot for Heating system Grün for Grounding system Anyway, I’ll show you when we do my Wagen 😂!!!
Greetings from Malaysia. Just rebuilding my 1984 W460 300GD interior. It was originally destined for UK - but apparently spent 1984-2013 in Japan. Then 2013 onwards in Malaysia and now with me in 2024. Thus no rust (!). New (1993 vintage) OM603 engine and associated new autobox being installed this month. Thank you for your inspiring vidoes!
Your making great progress. Taking on such a project will help you learn the car inside out! For future repairs it's going to be really helpful. Be sure to keep the bottom trim piece clean from mud in the future. That was the first place my G started rusting. I'm looking forward for the next episode 👍
Good video brothers ! Your next project should be a UH I D bell Huey !!!!!!!! Viet name era complete with a pig !! M- 60 30 cal hanging out the door... Thank you Frank from montana...
1: mine has a rubber seal all around where the fender flares join the body sides 2: did you rustproof all of the holes you drilled? 3: those flares look quite wide - are these the AMG version? Mine has the wider flares but also has 275 section tyres. Keep up the great work! These were just some challenges to be helpful if I can.
1. Ours flares had rubber seals to but we weren't sure whether they had ever been waterproof or simply to prevent chafing of the flares against the paint of the body. In any case, the rubber was so hard we discarded them. Instead we put some of the thin foam insulating tape we used in the cab on the contact surface of the flare. Probably won't seal against water much but will prevent chafing. 2. We used the underbody protection grease generously on all the holes we drilled, the plastic anchors, screws and contact surfaces of the trim pieces. It won't last forever but taking the trim off once a year to check for rust and apply fresh grease probably is not a bad idea anyway. 3. No AMG signs on the flares so as far as we know, they are stock. Keep challenging us! We appreciate your support.
Hi brothers am driving a short wheel base 3 door GD300 for the past 9 years which use to be my dream car since my childhood I love my car but having short parts from the dealer company Orbis Ethiopia

Awesome! You have any pictures you are willing to share?
@@jonasfreitag Yeah, I could share a few. I'm not too IT savy, how would I go about doing this. Do you have an email address? I don't do Facebook etc.
@@mikeroz6549 By all means! fridaysletterbox@gmail.com

Thank you so much for your kind and honest words. For a small team with limited resources it is definitely quite the challenge.
An incredible amount of work, but it's all paying off and coming together. Looking forward to the next episode!
Appreciate it Albert!

Hey Bernie! That sounds like a very smart idea! I'll let Lasse know.

Thanks Bas! That's very kind. I think taking off all the trim pieces to clean and check for onset rust ist probably not a bad idea.
Zierleisten und Lackierung passen gut zusammen. 👍
Danke Cäcilie! Ja, die Kombo funktioniert echt gut.
I would definitely drop the nuts and washers into the most inaccessible spots. Nice work.
:-D That does happen.
Great work guys!
Thanks a lot Sir!
Starting to look like my 2018 G300 CDI
Nice work lads🤙👍
If you squint, definitely! :-D
Nice work 💯
Thanks Man!
Good performance guys! I'm a bit scared of the wiring because I also have custom cables added by the previous owner to the wiring harness -.-
Feel free to swing by and take a look at ours when we're done for reference, Felix!
@@jonasfreitag Thanks! I'll do it :)

Thank you Frank! Restoring a Huey would be an awesome project but I think we'll stick with ground vehicles for the moment.

What are you putting in the drilled holes Cosmoline?
That's the corrosion protection grease we used in the previous episode.
did you reuse the exterior trim of the old car or get new ones. (at 4.30), if old, how did you clean them, fix them. if new, where did you order them?
nice work
Thanks Khaled!
I won't restor my g lik e you

Ich finde, dass der G im Original ohne Kotflügelverbreiterung am besten aussieht.
عمل ممتاز جداً جداً جداً
