You just confirmed what I was worrying about. If I had my key stored on one of those, I’d lie awake at night worrying that I accidentally remove the locker and all the letters fall out. I feel like you can build a better one with one of your videos.
john - u don't have to stack the letters in reverse order if you use the threaded head as the TOP - which it actually is. You flipped it 180 degrees and made the bottom - where the lock pin goes - the top. If you do that then yes, you have to do it in reverse order and reverse letters. But the threaded head is actually the top so you start there with letters in normal sequence. In your example, you would have put L A W, separator, C H O W, separator, etc etc. And that is how you would read it - starting from the top.
i think the practice will burn the 24 words in your mind as it hurts mine watching this review... great job on sharing your frustration. Won't hold up to meteor strike makes that a deal breaker.. we need one that will survive that, for a Benjamin ...
just flip it lol, you people should stick to trad banking letting someone else custody it for you, youre just gonna make some dumb mistake and lose it all
I tattoo'ed my pass phrase on me myself and I switched some numbers around like where #5 should go I put the 17th word and where #17 goes I put the 5th word it hurt like hell but losing 5+ BTC would hurt even more thanks guys for reading my review bye now.
If it's rust and water proof and fireproof then ok, good for storing somewhere. But because it's mechanical, one wrong swivel and all your words will just fall out. Those metal punch cards are probably much better. No moving parts
it's round. cylindrical. smooth. about 10 cm long. Where else could you hide it? If you're struggling to answer this question, you haven't lived your life and I'm sad for you.

i will buy it and put my paper in it
The lock pin should be screwed on with a second safety mechanism. Imagine opening the capsule and all the letters fall out lol
Hahahha I was thinking the same shit
you can put 2 fasteners on it
if you have a brain, you know how to take it out without capsule falling.
@@stonks759 that's like saying you will never have a car accident because your a good driver.. 😂
@@elonzander8692 totally not the same thing. i see you are in the non-brain people
This legend is still going. I have seen you since the start of the web.
yeah, when I seen this video and his face / name, my brain got a blue screen for many seconds, then I remembered him :))
On a second thought, I seriously think Google might have "shadow banned" him until now.
I would not reverse the word letters; seems like loading them in left-to-right same as the passphrase is the correct way.
Simple stainless washers + punch set looks much simpler, safer and more reasonable price wise. Especially if you have many wallets.

LOL
Tie a string or solid metal wire to the hole at the end. That way you can slide the plates completely off and they won't scatter out of order.
Not sure why the reversing the letters is necessary. What difference does this make?
Thanks for doing these reviews
Love your vids, keep grinding.
Why would you put it on backwards? Makes it more annoying to read.
Because it's easier to read from the narrow end than from the end with the head. The head would overhang over the letters a bit.
Because we read left to right and our brain work on a first come first serve basis.

@@heatpete5106 that is dumb as hell. you are gonna forget 17 and 5 and which is which.
Really informative video. Thanks John!
What if your trying to read them and they all fall out at the same time and they spill everywhere mixing up and scrambling all the letters?!?
so this is long term analog bitcoin storage device?
Did you have to buy this one? Or did they send it out to you for review?
It was a review unit.
No need to go backwards.
yea you just read it from other end
So who's the father of all backups?
Excellent review. Thanks.
great video
Great video, thanks!
Amazing video

Thank you
The levels of idiocy of "safety" related products coming out because of crypto seem to be in an unstoppable bull-trend.
cool
basically that is a stupid thing. your washer idea is much better.
It's not expensive if you have a lot of bitcoins
Think I will pass on that one
Such nonsense! Stone tablets have stood the test of time! 🤯🤯🤯🤡🤡🤡🌍🌍🌍
I would not be shocked if someone made a stone crypto backup.
I would never buy that

should I use a lube?
