It's just bcuz tamilians have better movies and better actors. Tamilans did apprieacted bahubali bcuz that film was better than tamil movies. For a producer Business end most important he perfectly highlighed every issue they are facing. Im from Andhra after Rajini sir Surya and Karti has that range of fan following they directly interact with people ,we watch their movies as our own we don't have any inhibitions, egos or complexes.
