      Luke 1
      New International Version
      Introduction
1 Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled[a] among us, 2 just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. 3 With this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, 4 so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.
Truth must have hard evidence, and so far no one can dispute honestly, the 4 Gospel writer accounts as unreliable or not accurate.
If it was a lie? the 11 disciples died ( were brutally murdered)for what they knew to be a lie !
I would listen to luke he was an eyewitness and recorded eyewitness testimonies about the events that took place during Jesus 3 year Ministry
The resurrection actually happened no one has come back from death after being dead for 3 days, Jesus Historically did.
This Nobel peace prize winner was converted to christianity because of the accuracy of Lukes Gospel historical factual evidence.

      John 8:32
      The Bible
And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Matt does not know it or if he does he denies it now as the Devil's servant.
The Bible say's that the devil is the father of lies and was a liar from the beginning! ( not real you say ? isis and hitler, are his offspring, also child murderers to name a few)

Why do people at all need to do gods work? Very arrogant to think a divine creator would need us to do anything because we will never be able to do stuff as well. And even if god wants a crap job to be done he can still do that better than us as well.
The notion that we must teach each other about god and have a bible proves that if there is god(s) they don't want the message to be clear and don't want any real relationship with us. Print the knowledge in us as instinct or make it as clear as mathematics and the problem is solved. But spreading the message with old inaccurate books, myths, unclear parables and with historical context that is lost to time will have over time have a 100% (or 99.99999999...%) failure rate.
The fact that an absolute majority of people that have ever existed never heard about Jesus, Moses, Yahwe etc. Like people today never have heard about thousands of other gods/religions that now is lost to history.
The gods they either dont exist or if they do every single religion (known to us) is wrong about them.

With the first one, Kieth has a good point generally, but Matt has a good counterpoint specifically.
While it's true that there exist circumstances where someone _should_ be able to refuse to do creative work supporting something they don't believe in, the cake incident is not one. If the bakery owners maintained a general policy of investigating all people wishing to order wedding cakes in order to confirm their moral and religious compatibility maybe it would be different. But the owners didn't try to find out if their potential customers were swingers or criminals or worked of Sundays or were just getting married for tax or immigration purposes or whatever, it seems they only picked one group to discriminate against.
The couple weren't asking for custom fetish art or something, they just wanted a beautiful cake. A service the owners were happy to offer to opposite-sex couples without even an _effort_ to determine if there were any significant religious/moral conflicts in their beliefs.

We were made to do extra cleaning and make-work "details" if we refused. I don't know if it's still the case but I remember news reports from the late 90s and 2000s of Cadets in the Air Force Academy being hazed, threatened and berated by christian fellow Cadets and even training Cadre if they were not 'christian enough'.

This relates to something that happened a while ago to a local business in my area. Their line of work is printing on t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, caps etc. They print pictures and texts with all kinds of messages and noone has really bothered, until a few months ago. They had received an order to print t-shirts with «All lives matter» and «sewer rat lives matter» (this was a «payback» at someone that had called someone else a sewer rat in a political debate, and gotten away with it, because it was considered politically correct). When this was brought to the media’s attention, it became a fuzz in the local newspaper and of course on social media. The company defended themselves with «don’t kill the messenger», and any rationally thinking person of course agrees with this defence. Problem is, noone dares to say so, because of the debate climate surrounding these matters… A video here on yt also relates to the problem of saying «all lives matter», «white lives matter» or actually anything that is not directly saying «black lives matter». If you are saying something different than the latter, you are automatically branded as a racist. My wife, who is originally a Namibian (can be seen on my profile picture) actually totally agrees with me…
If a black person states: «I am NOT, and have NEVER been opressed», then most likely a white person will respond: «You are a disgrace to your people.»

Similarly on the tattoo-artist hypothetical, i would expect them to be able to craft whatever shapes are asked for, ignoring the message contained within. If they're not able to separate the form from the function, then i wouldn't quite trust their overall skill. [Or at least they should have some ToS that allow them to reject those requests.]

Thank you for addressing the issue of chaplains. I have always felt this was a clear violation of the separation of church and state. Clearly there is value in having QUALIFIED counselors as part of the military. But the only requirement (to pull in officer pay no less) is that they be a clergyman of some sort. I met a few while I was in who were complete morons and I have at least one good friend whose life was ruined by following faith biased advice from a chaplain (he badgered her to complete an ultimately disastrous pregnancy solely on the basis of not committing a 'sin'). This needs to stop.

A Colorado baker who won a partial victory at the U.S. Supreme Court in 2018 for refusing to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple went on trial Monday in yet another lawsuit, this one involving a birthday cake for a transgender woman.
Autumn Scardina attempted to order the birthday cake on the same day in 2017 that the high court announced it would hear baker Jack Phillips’ appeal in the wedding cake case. Scardina, an attorney, requested a cake that was blue on the outside and pink on the inside in honor of her gender transition.
Her lawsuit is the latest in a series of cases around the U.S. that pit the rights of LGBTQ people against merchants’ religious objections, an issue that remains unsettled by the nation’s top court.

If God wanted people to believe he existed, he'd light up every wall (or nearby/relevant surface) on Planet Earth simultaneously, like the bathroom wall on Spaceball 1, and address everyone with the largest press conference in human history. Bonus points for making it believable with extra touches like addressing every single person by name. (not in sequence of course, but simultaneously at the appropriate point in the speech. bonus bonus info is how long it takes to read the longest name on Earth, since he'd have to pause all the other speeches until it caught up if he wanted to keep it syncronized)

Whatever they want to say about homosexuality and the bible, Jesus while not addressing homosexuality per say, was depicted as being highly tolerant of all types of people and even went out of his way to make the least accepted feel comfortable. The letter writer lost me at the presumption that discriminating against a patron because of age, sex, religion, race, etc would be a bad thing. Bad in what way? Sure it might be bad from a business sense, but its quite good in terms of the freedom to allow private businesses to do as they wish. Any private business should be able to serve or deny service to anybody for any reasons -- even terrible ones. If a Jewish baker only wants to sell bread to female Jews over 5'9" tall, they should be able to. No private business should ever be forced to perform commerce against their will. At the same time, someone is equally free to open up a bakery right next door to the Jewish baker and advertise that they sell bread to anybody that wishes to walk inside their business. Angered citizens might even be compelled to peacefully protest outside the Jewish baker's establishment. But you either have freedom or you dont. You can't be a little bit pregnant. If an atheist wants to only hire other atheists for their landscaping business, they should have that right. Or refuse services to blacks, Presbyterians, Wiccans, or blondes with blue eyes. And the Presbyterians should be allowed to open a restaurant and refuse service to atheists. This entire conversation really has very little to do with what the message on the cake says or why the patron is buying it. All that should matter is commerce must never be forcibly compelled between two non-consenting adults in private enterprise. The end. If we're talking state or federally run rackets like the issuing of driver's licenses or business licenses or easements, watersheds, security in ones property, papers, or effects, etc, then yes everyone must be treated the same under the umbrella because the taxation is so commingled that everybody has skin in the game. If a Christian wants to open a book store however and refuse service to atheists or Satan worshipers, the state should not force them with the point of a gun to engage in commerce against their will.
