  • Dr Peterson walks through the different theories of how we perceive the world and gives his thoughts on which is correct.
Applications for Ralston College's MA in the Humanities for 2023 are now open. Dr. Peterson does not teach at Ralston.
    www.ralston.ac/humanities-ma
Ralston College presents the inaugural lecture of its Chancellor, Dr Jordan B Peterson, delivered at one of the most iconic sites of the ancient world, the Library of Celsus in Ephesus. This ancient city was the birthplace of Heraclitus, the philosopher who first articulated the idea of the Logos, and the final resting place of St. John, who uses that same Greek word to name the Divine Word. In his lecture, Dr Peterson argues that the intelligibility of the world depends on the patterned regularities that are superordinate to our immediate perception; this underlying order - which, from the Greeks onward, we have called Logos - is both the horizon that enables human perception and the basis for the possibilities that we realize in the world. Such an account of our intrinsic, rational, and self-determining capacity constitutes a challenge to the assumptions of many prevailing schools of thought - such as behaviorism, rigid empiricism, and postmodernism - and lays the burden of personal ethics, and the formation of a good society, squarely on the shoulders of the individual.

ChatGPT told me Jordan is dead, I think it's got some way to go.
Jordan Peterson passed away on June 12th, 2020, after a long battle with addiction. He was a Canadian clinical psychologist, cultural critic, and professor of psychology at the University of Toronto. He became widely known for his critiques of political correctness and his opposition to compelled speech, as well as his positions on Christianity, masculinity, and freedom of speech. His books, including "12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos" and "Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life" became international bestsellers. He was a polarizing figure and his views were met with both praise and criticism.

Currency occupies the same space, and like national boundaries, these things gain their power to exert tangible influence on the world from us, through us and for us.
Because we believe in money; we work for money, and because we work for money and because work is difficult and unpleasant; money has value, and because money has value; money can be traded for other things of value and because money can be traded for things of value; we can see first-hand evidence of the effect money can have and because we can clearly see the effect money can have; we believe in money.
At no point is it anything other than an agreed upon form of 'self' manipulation, from the view of the human species collectively, in the same way that we all agreed to act a certain way in certain situations, etc.
It's just the extreme end of tool making; systems are tools and rules are systems, things we made to accomplish a task. And just because a system of rules is intangible and made of your fantasies doesn't mean it isn't real, however it does mean that it cannot directly exert force in the same way that a lever can, it can only affect or have effect through a human. Because systems and rules are tools for working with (i.e. manipulating) humans.

Perception... is an array of unlimited version of countless things. Too vast of an amount that our brains is incapable of holding such information. If thats true? What is the most logical premise one should have that is practically sufficient for the brain capable of handling without overloading?
One needs deductive reasoning that many could be represented by a single idea so on and so forth.
if everything is something one can not fathom? Well then prioritize what you need to know more than the others that also serves the purpose you aim at and how it will serve you.
That in the end of the logical deduction? Everythings should becomes one for being a parallel to one another. Then everything will be perceptible that doesnt overload the brain. Its must almost an impossible task no doubt but thats is the only option one can have that is possible for the brain able to process without going crazy but also sustainable and still can live life as they see fit!
Deduction is a logical must have to decide which one should keep to what is superior and discard whats inferior or it would be futile even with all the data processed by super computer!
Who knows... maybe this idea could worked but also have great possibility to this is a total hogwash! ; p

Neutrinos pass through your body at a magnitude you probably can't even conceive. They have mass and spin and when they interact with other matter they change spin. In other words they are natural data storage bits. There is evidence they also interact with every cell in your body. How many gigarads of neutrino data is your body sensing every instance? Is your quantum bio computer processing all that data? Does it use that data to create the standing wave field in which you are immersed with countless others. How do we perceive this "reality" as a mass formation? Who is manipulating these formations? Why not all that share a paradigm? Deep is this rabbit hole.

Countries, states do not objectively exist. It’s a reification fallacy or fallacy of misplaced concreteness.

Your employment with daily wire has now poisoned my respect for you. It seems we’re at a point where critical thinking is labelled as “far-right” and “radical”. Now, more than ever, we need to spread the message of critical thinking and personal responsibility. Punitive measures for biased big tech censorship should not be tolerated by anyone trying to save the world.

The presentation bothers me too, but this is a good opportunity to question the reason.
Basically, he's not behaving any differently from the old college videos.
Maybe a little more serious, almost like a fanatical preacher who wants to do God's work and believes that everything depends on him, but it can only look like that because of the presentation.
Anyway, I don't want to be in his shoes and he knows the dangers lurking there himself.
I always have to think about what he said about Hitler and the cheering masses.
The subject of perception of video also fits in, if millions think everything is good and the correct feedback is no longer there, then it is almost too late for your psyche.
I just hope he doesn't think he can control the problem.
And one point is always your opponent, you can never assume that he is stupider, for me this presentation almost looks like intent to lure him into the trap.
If he is raised even further up, then it may even be too much for the most loyal and then they drop him.
However, your comment already shows in which direction it is going, respectively shows what must ultimately disturb.
Technically, based on his knowledge, it's hard to attack Jordan's reputation, but you can do that through his psyche, through his ego.

Jordan's word-salad impresses a lot of people, as you can see by how many eager talk-show hosts and hostesses invited him to be a guest on their talk shows.
Of course, whether they invited him on their talk shows because they were mocking him, or because they really did believe that he had and has something of high value to offer others ... is the question.
He shot to almost instant fame by spreading false information about the transgender issue in Canada ... and hopefully now people are beginning to see through him, as being a wanna-be very intelligent owner of absolute and undeniable truth.
I feel rather sorry for him ... because falling from a position of fame must be a very ego-deflating type of journey, and I hope that for his and his family's sake ... with his frail ego ... that he can handle the fall ... without being self destructive.
