On March 6th, I decided to go out and document the abandoned crossing signals on what's left of the TAG in northern Georgia between Kensington, GA, and Chattanooga, TN. After the plant here in Kensington closed in August of 2008, the line was eventually reverted back to NS's ownership, who later partially removed the line.
Also, the TAG was bought by the Southern Railway in 1971, so that means these are most likely early-70s SOU signals.

No, the railroad or the county would've been the one to remove the lights and gate arms.

@@kplinger The MUTCD requires any signs/equipment that would control traffic, but isn't in use, to be removed, covered up, or turned away from traffic. For why the gate arms were removed was to prevent the road from being blocked if/when the gate mech fails.

Because the line is completely dead.
