      Unlike PSUs, received orders, and delivered. No supply chain problems, no excuses, no drama like the PSUs. Compare this to India Russia Rifles Pvt Ltd which is supposed to manufacture AK203. They have orders of 6-1/2 lakhs. Excuses start from Russia fighting a war, supply chain problems. We are not geared to manufacture components indigenously. Similarly, HAL, US is not supplying engines, last minute change request from IAF, European supplier doesn't supply key components - Result not even 1 Mk1A delivered.
      MoD please sell all these bloody PSUs to capital markets. Let an efficient management team come on board and reorg the company and watch them blossom.

      @r8rdarklord 8 днів тому

      If the Govt. had fast-tracked it to some PSU they would have said we would deliver in 5 years. I am not exaggerating that is exactly what the PSU has done with the Dhanush artillery gun. It's been 10 years and the orders are still not delivered. The PSU definition of usual speed is 30 years, and fast track is 10 years.

    I really dont understand how will the army manage logistics in a long term conflict they have 5.56 insas , 7.62 ak series, 7.62*51mm lmgs and mmgs 9mm for their pistols and carbine 7.62 r for their svds , .50 bmg and 12 .7 mm for their hmgs ???

  • @sachinmesta4238

    We are getting into some logistical nightmare,
    We are using AK203 which have 7.62 X 39 and also SIG716 with 7.62 x 51 and now negev, maybe it should also come with kit to convert use of either Ammo, the barrel wont be the issue, the issue will be the feed system.
    Imagine a squad with Ak-203, no one will have ammo compatible with the LMG. So the LMG crew has to carry extra boxes of Ammo.

    • @r8rdarklord
      @r8rdarklord 8 днів тому

      SIG 716 is an assault rifle, not an LMG. It's not a logistical nightmare SIG 716 & Negev share the same ammunition. The army uses multiple small arms for different purposes, INSAS, AK47, Tavor, Galil Ace, AK203, SIG 716. They all have their own pros and cons.

    • @sachinmesta4238
      @sachinmesta4238 8 днів тому

      @@r8rdarklord When you dont understand a certain post, its good not to reply to it, the whole idea of an army is to have uniform equipment, except special equipment for special units. Now we have SIG 716 using 7.62 x 51mm, Negev (LMG) uses the same but changing few parts it can change calibre. IA wants to arm its entire army mostly with AK203 which is 7.62 X 39mm. INSAS (5.56 X 45mm) is being replaced by AK-203 so get your facts right. Tavor & Galil ACE are for special forces like Paras, Garudas etc. we also use pistol calibre SMGS in 9 X 19 mm. so a unit that is armed with AK 203 and with Negev LMG, have to have extra belts for their LMGs as AK 203 rounds are not interchangeable with Negev. I think getting SIG716 is OK but a confused idea, when we can retool and develop FN FAL which we have full TOT for our own army. Yes FN FAL is bulky for todays warfare, but it can be modified.

    • @r8rdarklord
      @r8rdarklord 8 днів тому

      @@sachinmesta4238 Your post shows your understanding of small arms equipment.
      You are saying we shouldn't have bought 80000 odd Sig 716 and retooled FN FAL, a 1950s design. BTW, without googling can you tell the reason for the SIG 716 purchase and what was it purchased for?

    • @sachinmesta4238
      @sachinmesta4238 8 днів тому

      @@r8rdarklord Firstly, I dont need to google for things on defence, Since say 1950s not much revolutionary improvement has been done for firearms. There is short stroke piston rifles like FN-FAL, Dragunov, HK G36, Steyr Aug etc. one of the latest being HK 417 which has been accepted by US Army and recently SIG MCX SPEAR.
      then there is long stroke rifles, like AKs, Tawor, etc. Then there is the roller delayed system used in G3 rifles etc. Now among the rifles, FN-FAL and G3s are among the most reliable rifles, which fire the battle round (7.62 X 51mm) now you know that AK-47 and AK-203 are related, in fact AK-203 uses the same 1950 design, but with modern "furniture". Below the furniture there is hardly any difference in AK-47 and AK-203. Now to go to history, why did India stop using FN-FAL? When IPKF went to sri lanka or even during combat with terrorists in J&K, it was observed that the battlefield distance was short, about 400 metres, in this both AK-47 and FN-FAL do equally, but AK-47 could provide more accurate automatic fire, which FN-FAL could not, so there are examples that many soldiers were using Guns and Ammo of the killed terrorists. Which they do even now. To go with the Trend that time, to go for lighter 5.56 or 5.45 calibre round, India went for INSAS, INSAS has its issues, but it was also noted that a person with a good body armour can stop the 5.56 round. Thus we want to go again for better cartridge which is 7.62 x 39mm.
      India purchased SIGs mainly for anti terror operations where where the Indian army soldier with 7.62 X 51 can take down a terrorist armed with AK with 7.62 X 39 round as 7.62 X 51 has a better range but AK will be able to provide fully automatic firepower more accurately than 7.62 x 51 mm Sig Sauer.
      There are now other rounds like 6.8 grendel, which offer better stopping power than 7.62 X 51 and weigh much lesser. it has advantages of both 5.56 and 7.62 round, also have a read about it when you can.
      If you compare it with say USA Army, they have one rifle, M4, which they were thinking to replace with next gen Rifle won by SIG XM5, M4 is a good 5.56 mm rifle but does not have the range or stopping power of 7.62 X 39 or 51 which 6.8 X 51mm of XM5 can, its lighter than 7.62 X 51 hence more ammo can be carried but also provides the hitting power of 7.62 X 51. best of both the worlds.
      The point to make is that since 1950 there have been few revolutionary changes but most have been incremental changes. FN-FAL with some modifications can be cheaper and better than an imported SIG. cheers.

    • @r8rdarklord
      @r8rdarklord 8 днів тому

      @@sachinmesta4238 There may not have been revolutionary changes but there have been changes and today equipment is reliable, lightweight, has less recoil, designed to take care of a soldier's comfort. To give you an example, even without a caliber change it took the US years before it could address issues of M16 and come up with M4.
      The army made an emergency purchase because they needed the long-range, higher firepower & accuracy for soldiers deployed on the LAC ASAP.
