You probably won't get to read this Susan because it's 18 hours since you posted this video, but I'll write this here anyway. After watching your video last night when you were talking about being grateful, I knew that I had never told anyone in my life that I was grateful to have them, or know them. So I went and found my husband and told him that I was grateful to have him. Clearly no-one had ever said that to him before either. The expression that came on his face was so bright that he looked decades younger. It was like dawn rising. He knows that I love him but hearing that I was grateful to have him lit his face up and he hugged me. So that's something good you did Susan. My husband has ADHD, and although an intelligent person, he has copped a lot of misunderstanding and criticism during his life.
This was so beautiful....telling those we love we are grateful for them is so intense and meaningful for all involved. Your words have made my day! Thank you for your kindness and pure goodness. Your husband sounds wonderful too!

I remember my grandmother had a Maxwell Parrish print in her bedroom. It hung on one of the hot pink bedroom walls. There was a very old fixture that was painted bright gold that was on the ceiling. I was between 5-8 years old. I loved the print and had never ever seen a bedroom painted like that. I loved my grandmother and heard somewhere along the line that she had gypsy tendencies. And she played piano by ear with reckless abandon. One of a kind. Thanks for bringing back that memory after all these years. I am 77 now so it's been a while.

Hi Susan and Welcome Back Hal! A note on being grateful- yesterday I went to another funeral for a co-worker and once again, shared with her adult son experiences I had with his mother. I hadn’t planned on speaking after the scheduled speakers were finished giving their tributes, but I could feel myself being nudged by our boss ( who is also in spirit now and still talks to me) to get up and tell the family and friends about her work that they didn’t know. Afterwards her son and family said they appreciated learning more about her life. I am grateful I was there to witness- but I was very jolted by the experience😢 Love to Desi❤

Hi Susan. This is Robert. I just discovered your channel and subscribed. I am 73 and single and soon to be alone. My Min Pin Charlies I had for over 16 years is in the last week of life so preparing myself. I have been divorced since 1988 and nver remarried. Been on dates and a few relationships but no strong marriage type love developed. I always found things I had a hard time accepting with the opposite. Felt my life would become complicated and not as simple as the lonely life was. Anyway to keep from becoming too alone I have hobbies. Guitar, flying my drone, riding my bicycles, and going to the gym. I find that it is very important going to a gym. Doing weights, swimming, sitting in the hot tub, sauna, and steam room. I used to go country dancing but I stopped all that. I still go to thrift stores like you do. The house I live in is paid for as well as my vehicles. No financial or health issues. Life is good but it gets lonely sometimes.
Are you hitting on Susan lol😂. As a min pin owner of 25 years I feel for you. They are such a loyal protective unique breed. My Min Pin Trixie is almost 17 and still going strong. I hope your little one does not suffer. Thinking of you.
I'm so very sorry about your precious dog. I lost mine in February of 2021 and it broke my heart into a million pieces. Sounds like you keep yourself very busy, and that's the key to a fulfilling life. Again, my deepest condolences on the loss of your sweet dog.

I love "hanging out" with you on Saturday nights!! Your smile and your videos are always so warm and sincere. Tonight your words touched me so much. I had that difficult, rocky, bumpy or not so wonderful childhood. My mother always held us together and always, always told us "Things could always be worse." --when you said that , It was like a gentle reminder--I felt like it was a little message from my mom. Life has been out of sorts recently, and I truly found comfort in those words. Then when you and Desi sang!! Oh my heart! I regretfully never got the photo--but, there is a great park by the river around me, and someone recently had a dedicated park bench put there. When you sang with little Desi...I was brought right back there to the river and the bench. The dedication engraved on the bench is---yep...."You are my Sunshine, my only sunshine" ....When I was there last with my Rudy, my very best dog ever....I wanted a picture of us sitting on that bench.....Sadly he passed (at 15 plus years old) and we never got the photo. I have the memory though...and had the privilege of being his one and only, he was happiest and content just to be by my side all of his life.... Certainly, things could always be worse. Welcome Hal! Was great to have him in this video! Susan you gave great advice about buy what you love, decorate how you love, even if its chickens ::). Our homes are our castles and should be every inch that reflects our tastes and things that bring us joy, no one else has to like it. Loved the shot at night, looks like a very small downtown, but again we are in a huge city so downtown here is massive! We do recommend that everyone only use pretty dishes, pretty glasses, pretty cups etc ... Susan you show so many beautiful dishes that can be bought at the thrift store! Anyone not using beautiful dishes run to the thrift store! Such such fun listening to Desi sing. Hal looks great in the blue toque and scarf!! May you both be blessed with health and many more years of friendship!

So great to see Hal! I’m in thrift stores at least 5 days a week as I have an EBay store. What makes me sad is seeing someone’s collections in the store, owls, turtles, birds, Indian memorabilia etc. What meant so much to them meant nothing to their loved ones. I grew up poor so my Mother always thrifted (before it was called thrifting). She was an artist and could recover any furniture, repaint prints using the frames & canvas, paint side tables, beds etc. When my oldest brother got married in the 70’s she made her dress from a set of curtains (not the Carol Burnet style). At 64 it’s my hobby, a way to make extra money but my kids think it’s an addiction!
I have known several people who would purchase the latest decor, pay too much for it, and then live with it until it was out of style-even though they never liked it. I think that home is sanctuary and needs to be uniquely meaningful. Thanks for sharing who the artist of that painting is...I have seen a number of them and always liked the quotes, sorry that it was grief that drove her. It was wonderful to see Hal, I'm so glad he is recovered and able to look forward tomany years ahead! An old friend is one of life's greatest blessings, and a perfect valentine.

I got trapped in a house full of pigs back in the 1990s when I found a brass kitchen towel holder I put beside my sink on the upper cabinet's side. I thought I'd never stop getting piggy gifts. Oh my gosh, I'd forgotten about the decade of pigs.
Hi Susan! I did my second Dollar Tree haul today and an up to 233 followers! I can't believe it!!! I'm going to try thrifting next week. One just opened in my tiny one red light town called, Unique Finds. I can't wait to go in! I'll film it. So excited about my new hobby, I'm making so many friends!

All they sell comes from the USA and it’s 99% clothes. 😢Once in a very long while one can find a dish or pan. And the thing is I loooove thrifting. I remember my grandmother had a Maxwell Parrish print in her bedroom. It hung on one of the hot pink bedroom walls. There was a very old fixture that was painted bright gold that was on the ceiling. I was between 5-8 years old. I loved the print and had never ever seen a bedroom painted like that. I loved my grandmother and heard somewhere along the line that she had gypsy tendencies. And she played piano by ear with reckless abandon. One of a kind. Thanks for bringing back that memory after all these years. I am 77 now so it's been a while.

Hi Susan and Welcome Back Hal! A note on being grateful- yesterday I went to another funeral for a co-worker and once again, shared with her adult son experiences I had with his mother. I hadn’t planned on speaking after the scheduled speakers were finished giving their tributes, but I could feel myself being nudged by our boss ( who is also in spirit now and still talks to me) to get up and tell the family and friends about her work that they didn’t know. Afterwards her son and family said they appreciated learning more about her life. I am grateful I was there to witness- but I was very jolted by the experience😢

Hi Susan. This is Robert. I just discovered your channel and subscribed. I am 73 and single and soon to be alone. My Min Pin Charlies I had for over 16 years is in the last week of life so preparing myself. I have been divorced since 1988 and nver remarried. Been on dates and a few relationships but no strong marriage type love developed. I always found things I had a hard time accepting with the opposite. Felt my life would become complicated and not as simple as the lonely life was. Anyway to keep from becoming too alone I have hobbies. Guitar, flying my drone, riding my bicycles, and going to the gym. I find that it is very important going to a gym. Doing weights, swimming, sitting in the hot tub, sauna, and steam room. I used to go country dancing but I stopped all that. I still go to thrift stores like you do. The house I live in is paid for as well as my vehicles. No financial or health issues. Life is good but it gets lonely sometimes.
Are you hitting on Susan lol😂. As a min pin owner of 25 years I feel for you. They are such a loyal protective unique breed. My Min Pin Trixie is almost 17 and still going strong. I hope your little one does not suffer. Thinking of you.

I'm so very sorry about your precious dog. I lost mine in February of 2021 and it broke my heart into a million pieces. Sounds like you keep yourself very busy, and that's the key to a fulfilling life. Again, my deepest condolences on the loss of your sweet dog.

I love "hanging out" with you on Saturday nights!! Your smile and your videos are always so warm and sincere. Tonight your words touched me so much. I had that difficult, rocky, bumpy or not so wonderful childhood. My mother always held us together and always, always told us "Things could always be worse." --when you said that , It was like a gentle reminder--I felt like it was a little message from my mom. Life has been out of sorts recently, and I truly found comfort in those words. Then when you and Desi sang!! Oh my heart! I regretfully never got the photo--but, there is a great park by the river around me, and someone recently had a dedicated park bench put there. When you sang with little Desi...I was brought right back there to the river and the bench. The dedication engraved on the bench is---yep...."You are my Sunshine, my only sunshine" ....When I was there last with my Rudy, my very best dog ever....I wanted a picture of us sitting on that bench.....Sadly he passed (at 15 plus years old) and we never got the photo. I have the memory though...and had the privilege of being his one and only, he was happiest and content just to be by my side all of his life.... Certainly, things could always be worse. Susan you gave great advice about buy what you love, decorate how you love, even if its chickens ::). Our homes are our castles and should be every inch that reflects our tastes and things that bring us joy, no one else has to like it. Loved the shot at night, looks like a very small downtown, but again we are in a huge city so downtown here is massive! We do recommend that everyone only use pretty dishes, pretty glasses, pretty cups etc ... Susan you show so many beautiful dishes that can be bought at the thrift store! Anyone not using beautiful dishes run to the thrift store!

So great to see Hal! I’m in thrift stores at least 5 days a week as I have an EBay store. What makes me sad is seeing someone’s collections in the store, owls, turtles, birds, Indian memorabilia etc. What meant so much to them meant nothing to their loved ones. I grew up poor so my Mother always thrifted (before it was called thrifting). She was an artist and could recover any furniture, repaint prints using the frames & canvas, paint side tables, beds etc. When my oldest brother got married in the 70’s she made her dress from a set of curtains (not the Carol Burnet style). At 64 it’s my hobby, a way to make extra money but my kids think it’s an addiction!
I have known several people who would purchase the latest decor, pay too much for it, and then live with it until it was out of style-even though they never liked it. I think that home is sanctuary and needs to be uniquely meaningful. Thanks for sharing who the artist of that painting is...I have seen a number of them and always liked the quotes, sorry that it was grief that drove her. It was wonderful to see Hal, I'm so glad he is recovered and able to look forward tomany years ahead! An old friend is one of life's greatest blessings, and a perfect valentine.

I got trapped in a house full of pigs back in the 1990s when I found a brass kitchen towel holder I put beside my sink on the upper cabinet's side. I thought I'd never stop getting piggy gifts. Oh my gosh, I'd forgotten about the decade of pigs.

I have been thrifting for more than 30 years. I just love it. I have control. Most times I go and I spend a few hours just looking at everything. I don't have to buy. Thrift stores fill me with happiness. I love finding something very special and meaningful to me, then I buy, just like you do.

Oh how I wish we had thrift stores in Costa Rica like you do in the States. All they sell comes from the USA and it’s 99% clothes. 😢Once in a very long while one can find a dish or pan.
