an RX8 can rev up to 9000 rpm with an engine size of about 2.0l. a mazda 787b can rev up to 10500 rpm from a 2.6l engine with 4 rotors produing 930 bhp. a veyron super sport has an 8.0l W16 engine that revs 6400 rpm producing 1200 bhp. a koenigsegg agera rs has 5.0l V8 twin turbo producing 1160 bhp. point is, if mazda invested time and money on those engines, they would dominate all sports and racing, no contest. bugatti and koenigsegg spend tons of money on research and development when obiously there are companies way ahead of them, but only if rotaries evolved they would be so good like the 787b that they wouod ban them from racing which they did
