I did not know twisting the strap prevents the humming noise! You sir are a life saver 👍🏻

Like magic! Anywhere the air can move around it, give it a twist!

@@Paddleheads I normally just turn up the radio and that fixes the problem inside the car, but I probably sound like a race car outside lol

If you happen to be altitudinally challenged, letting the air out of your tires will lower your car by about 3-5 inches. Your mileage may vary 😎😉

I like that tip. Will demonstrate and give credit in the next version of this. 😉

The 4x4 guys would love that any chance to air down 😂

That's exactly how I lift my mom's fibreglass Kawartha that weighs almost as much as me. Here's a trick you can use especially with no roof rack: put the bow perpendicular on the vehicle roof and set it down (like a portage rest) then go pick up the stern and walk it around to the back of the vehicle and push the canoe forward into place, never having to lift the canoe overhead. Not using a roof rack is seriously advantageous for those who go 4x4ing with their canoes because it keeps branches from getting stuck between the canoe and the roof, and the increased contact patch greatly reduces the vertical forces on the canoe when driving on bumpy trails. Plus when squeezing lifted trucks under leaning trees, the lower the canoe rides on top the better. Pool noodles sliced open and fitted on the gunnels are a great alternative to roof racks (foam blocks are garbage), or if you have vinyl gunnels and don't care about some light scratching on your roof you can just throw the canoe directly on there like I do.

That green canoe in this video is about that same weight, not sharp tho! Hope you find something that works!
