Thanks and it was nice to meet you as well! I’ve been wanting to come down the past couple years. It looks like by how nice everything was I waited for the right time! Can’t wait to come back again some day!
Another great video and layout discovery. I didn't even know they existed. I'm going to have to stop down now. This will make 2 this year i've never seen. There's another litle known HO-scale layout at the Rochester Area Heritage Society in Rochester PA that i got to see that was absolutely amazing. Probably the most detailed layout i've ever seen in this area. They also had Z-scale, N-scale, O-scale and G-scale layouts. You need to get down there and make a video for us all to enjoy. I think they are open one more weekend this holiday season on the 7th and 8th. Thanks for this video and all the other ones you've made this year. Pittsburgh has alot more to offer than i ever thought!
Nice looking layouts, for your benefit, On30 really started as a novelty, it was a way of modeling O scale narrow gauge without having to pay the ultra high prices of On3, same with HOn30, in O, they made On30 by using HO scale mechanisms and trucks and couplers utylizing O scale superstructures, it made for a very inexpensive way to model narrow gauge with the cheap and at the time, available HO components, that is, until the 1990's when Bachman came along and released a whole bunch of what they called "On30"!
Wow cool! Thanks for that info. I knew some about On30 but this make complete sense. I have a tiny little On30 coal mining scene on my own layout so I guess I kinda forgot in the video when I said I’ve never seen one before 😂. Mine is a static display tho
@@PghTrainFanatic Everything has a history of course, On30 and HOn30 are nothing different in that regard, for many years Model Railroader magazine wouldn't call it On30, they would always call it On2.5, while there have been Colorado narrow gauge modeling using On30, for the most part people who were modeling that kind of narrow gauge were really doing more of the Maine two footers, since just like On3, almost everything was either expensive brass or high dollar craftsman kits, many would just scratchbuild O scale superstructures on HO mechanisms, at one time, (like about the 1960's), that was the way to go if you wanted narrow gauge.
most of the ON30 is made by Bachmann. The yellow train is actually a set (I have one). Funniest thing is the most common engine is the 2-6-0 mogul which comes in over 60 road names, most a themed sold by bradford exchange. The real attraction on on30 may be cuteness. Look up Thunder Mesa RR
You hit the nail on the head! It’s always neat to see how other people model and design different layouts. It helps to give you ideas for your own and can be an inspiration for people to get into the hobby!
Thanks so much Al! I’m pleased with how this video turned out. I’ve realized I must have a steady hand because I watch other people showing holiday layouts and it’s always too shaky and it just ruins the video 😂
2:29 - Nice model of Federal Street Tower! PRR had a couple of interesting towers in that area, Federal Street and Pennsylvania Avenue which was built over tracks near Island Avenue Yard.
(This is Tom, not Sandra.) Such a great train set-up video!! Such detail and craftsmanship that went into this fabulous set-up!! Thank you so much for posting this great train set-up for us viewers!!!! What a great treat to see.......the day after Christmas!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
Oh wow that is awesome!! What scale are you modeling? I’ll be back at Brady’s train outlet to do another video soon for sure! Thank you for being a fan of the channel!
The O and On30 are impeccable! But what happened to the HO? It seems toy like, not to mention the extreme speeds that some of the HO were running. Just seems like the layout was just thrown together with zero attention to detail. The other 2 layouts are just plain beautiful!
How can i send video of my HO scale layout to you can you send the info so I can send it I did all the painting by hand an used stuff around house to make stuff please send info so I can send it thank you
Can you please send me info on how to send video of my HO scale train layout to you and because I did a lot of the stuff by hand the painting the roads and such and use a lot of stuff around the house to make different things so if you can please send me the info so I can send you a video of my trains please thank you
Sorry too burst your bubble, but they wasn't "all that" I'm a "Self Proclaimed" critic, and those layouts looked like toys, which is okay if that what floats your boat. I'm into "realistic details" there was some weathering, not enough for my taste in layouts. Needed so much more work for me.
I liked the Griswold Family Truckster and the Batmobiles going through town.
and the cow on the roof
so many do z in a suitcase nice to see it done like the other scale and a long train just like the big ones
Great video Nick, thanks again for coming down and hanging out. Was great meeting you in person!

Thanks! I appreciate that nice comment! I will be showing more in the future hopefully!

Awesome beautiful layouts enjoying watching 🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂👍😃😎♥️ Awesome Video Sir ❤
Some nice looking layouts! That HO layout was quite busy. Loved all of them. Thanks Nick!
Thank you so much John! I heard they are planning to do some more work to the Ho layout for next season hopefully
Beautiful train layouts! Thanks for sharing.
You’re welcome and thanks! They did a great job on these layouts!
I like 2 out of 3 layouts and the lionel train layouts are the best, and the details on both of those layouts are great and how they made them.
I have to agree with you. O gauge layout are the best. The size of the trains are great and most have good sound systems
@@PghTrainFanatic Thank you and that is so true

Very impressive layouts with amazing details! Thanks Nick I enjoyed the tour.
Glad you enjoyed the tour Randy! They did a fantastic job and they keep making improvements each year I’ve heard

These are very nice layouts, nice job making this video Nick. Very nice to see all these trains!👍
Incredible layouts Nick. You did an outstanding job putting this video together. I have to visit this place.

Nice layouts, perfect to run BIG STEAM...
Oh I’d love to run one of my articulated engines on the o gauge layout over those bridges and past the town lol

Keep up the amazing work you inspired me to build me own layout which I started only a week ago and do another review on Brady's store for me

From the looks of it these look to be a show off type of layouts for public viewing, where true details are not as big as cuteness
You can see that the On30 and HO track are one and the same!
they are, and Bachmann makes most of the running stock
“Some are, some aren’t”.
Sweeeeeet
9:23 anyone know what model that steam engine is and where i can get one?
I believe it is the GS4 just like SP daylight train. I am more familiar with HO scale. It may be part of a freedom train set
How can i send video of my HO scale layout to you can you send the info so I can send it I did all the painting by hand an used stuff around house to make stuff please send info so I can send it thank you

Weird! They are not running their trains at 800 miles per hour!
