I thought that it was going to be impossible, but I tried it and found that after a few minutes, that though it is a challenge, it is doable. Thank you so much for sharing it. I've learned so much from you and the other teachers at GMM. You guys are great! Keep up the good work.
thank you !! I've been playing for over 50 years as a hobby more less and have wanted to learn lead for a long time but your the best teacher yet to make it easy to show off some NICE riffs quickly.
My guitar teacher taught me the regular spider walk/alternate picking 20yrs ago and I thought I was so smart when I changed it by alternating the fret order to things like 1-3-2-4 or 1-4-2-3 but I can't believe I never thought about moving up a fret when moving to the next string, this just added a whole new dimension to my spider walk warm-up, thanks for sharing!
This is a great exercise/warmup. Plus for improvising! You have always been my favorite instructor from GMM. I appreciate your patience & explaining everything step by step. I bought Six String Seduction a few year’s back and use that in my playing. You have completely changed the way I now look at the neck. I appreciate you very much!👊💯
Thank you Eddie . I’m glad I’m studying with you. Just what I needed. Love the pic action. I’ve played for over five decades and played all over the world. I always picked with my fingers and rarely used a pic. My bucket list includes improving my lead guitar skills.❤
This is great. I always would spend the time to do at least a couple of different spiders walks back to back. This is so much more efficient. Thanks for this.
Ah Maestro Eddie Haddad , always keep me on my toes mate , luv it got in seconds but then the focus points just honed it in , As usual Eddie Awesome Stuff M8. See Ya in the GMM members area . Hallelujah Y'all Amen & remember Eddie's the Man
Very nice practice and warm-up technique. I was hoping for a little advice on thumb position and walk up. I don't always feel comfortable with thumb position. Thanks for your method videos!
My rule of thumb (pin intended!) is to keep the thumb behind the neck, pressed somewhere near the middle. You’ll notice you don’t see my thumb peeking up behind the neck when I do the exercise, this keeps the range of motion at maximum. Hope that helps!
Thank you for your response. I have always been a little awkward with my thumb when playing lower single notes, I tend to get my hand cramped up. I believe this exercise will definitely help. Thanks again!@@OnwardAndEdward
Love this exercise. I've been doing the drunken spider walk and didn't even know it was called that. This is a great twist on my daily exercises. Greetings from Maui, thank you.
What does one do if the hand is too small to hit the top 4 ? Is there anything small handed folks can do to work around this more effectively? Awesome video btw !!
I don't get the alternate picking to the double picking I slowed the video all the way down and I couldn't see the difference. What am I missing, granted it did sound a bit different but I couldn't see the difference.
Alternate picking is picking down on 1 note and picking up on the next note. Double picking is picking down and up on 1 note, doing the same for every note. Consider your fingers, 1, 2, 3 and 4. Alternate picking = pick down on 1, pick up on 2, pick down on 3, pick up on 4. Double picking = pick down then up on 1, pick down then up on 2, pick down then up on 3, pick down then up on 4.

Brilliant! Like everything worth doing, it sounds a lot easier than it is. Will persevere……..
I can’t wait to try this
I've been using this same warmup for many years as well, but I take it all the way up the fretboard and back 5 times in a row.
Great lesson I definitely have to use this and the variations of the spider walk thanks for sharing all your knowledge 😊
Awesome
Thanks! Paying attention 💯🆒
So i guess i was doing the "Daddy Long Leg" version with my fingers not being super glued. Thanks Eddie
This is great. I always would spend the time to do at least a couple of different spiders walks back to back. This is so much more efficient. Thanks for this.
Cheers Eddie ... this should be called the spider "burn" ...
Does the job well though!!

give it a try happy new year😁😁
Great exercise. How do like that modern Fender?
It’s different, but I like it a lot!
@eddiehaddad6723 Traditional designs are classic. I find the new instruments provide more options and possibilities.
There is a bit of the pink painter in there starting on the low E string 16 fret heading back up the neck it sounded like to me lol.
Love this exercise. I've been doing the drunken spider walk and didn't even know it was called that. This is a great twist on my daily exercises. Greetings from Maui, thank you.
BOOM : You've done it again, Edward...
Another fabulous lesson

Awesome video btw !!
It actually looks more like some certain types of crabs walk, I love it,awesome exercise thank you for this.
This and the ‘drunken spider’. Thank you Eddie!👌🏻
❤nice
This should be called Spider Pong.
I like that!
😅
Spider-man with moon walk really Helpfull.❤
I've never heard of the drunken spider walk and the other one you mentioned. I know of just the ordinary one, these other ones are new to Mr.
I can see that , at first, you got to focus....

Alternate picking is picking down on 1 note and picking up on the next note.

Consider your fingers, 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Alternate picking = pick down on 1, pick up on 2, pick down on 3, pick up on 4.
Double picking = pick down then up on 1, pick down then up on 2, pick down then up on 3, pick down then up on 4.
