And it literally took 1\100th the work shown in this video. In my hometown we go river lobster fishing with spears made out of car antennas, and a spear gun made of PVC pipe, elastic tubing and cotton rope\twine. Very similar to what this guy made but way easier and faster to make, resourcefulness is the name of the game.
I'd prefer to see the handle mounted in a bowling ball finger (3) configuration for both x/y force. But.. contradictory.. I'd like to see a take down version, where the handle can be removed and locked in
@@cloudvii7777 : The removable handle is a great idea, it could be a concealed carry slingshot, and the arrows could be made out of 12 inch bamboo skewers with homemade goose feather fletching or whatever bird's feathers you can find and dipped in snake venom for home security reasons.
Beautiful forged chisels. Notice the twisted shankes. Also the spoke shave to do the radius...cut out by the fret saw. Nice little touches. Most people take short cuts because they can. Using the bobbins as someone else said was a great utilitarian idea. Keep up your creativity and aim.
I thank you very much for sharing and I must say you show excellent craftsmanship. I am a single father who spends time with his son every other week and I try to come up with things him and I could do together in the garage. This project looks perfect as I believe I have a spare price of Mahogany, nuts, bolts, screws and tools to match. Do you have by chance instructions on how to build this? Or say dimensions or templates of some sort? I realize this is a simple contraption but as with many things I build I love to work off of drawings, instructions or schematics of some sort on paper. I guess it’s just how my brain works. Anyways again I appreciate you sharing this. Any help is greatly appreciated. 🙏✌🏽
For all the haters out there. It looks like he took wood scraps and pallet wood and some silicone cordage and made something lethal. I seriously doubt any of you armchair bob Vilas could pull this off. I do finish carpentry which is a craft in itself and I don't think I could manage this but would love to give it a go. A parts list would be awesomely helpful but otherwise my hat is seriously off to this guy. It's an incredible and functional diy project!!! Amazing keep up the good work
I probably would have just watched these video without leaving a thumbs up and moved on to the next video because I can see areas to improve the design. BUT I watched until the end and I gotta admire a person that is confident enough to shoot at a target that is mounted to the side of a building lol. So thumbs up lol
Nice video, watching these kind of videos always gives me ideas how I will make my slingshot. Whether shooting home made arrows or lead, steel or natural shot, it helps in the future.
I have to say that I'm most impressed with his speed. How can somebody's arms move that fast?????? He should have been a boxer!!!!!! He missed his calling. I kept waiting for the sandpaper to ignite
@@Acolis Have you ever done anything with your hands? You know what's believe your hands? It's your feet. Things fall on your feet. Usually people don't have to wear steel toed boots because they are holding a hammer with their toes, I hope your question was a joke.
SONNEN VON HÜNDE This is almost what I have wanted. I've been thinking about a slingshot/arrow shooting weapon. My difference is it must use a non elastic cord, like a bowstring for a bow or crossbow.
Love the concept and design. A little confused on the tool usage though. Didn't he use tools for some work, then use different tools for steps that could have been better accomplished with the first tools? A good example being steps with bulk material removal that could have made use of his saw then finished with the precision tools.
I felt the same way, but the same for washer on the top but not bottom, and why they didn't use softer vice jaws or something to line them so they could more securely hold the wood without damaging it. I Still like the end result though.
Simple quick tip for keeping chisels sharp: super flat and hard surface, slap some 600 grit sandpaper on it. Have some of the paper hanging off the side and trim. Press hard at first for a good burr, alternate sides to remove, pressing lighter and lighter throughout the process, and very lightly at the end of the sharpening. Just make sure you remove all the burr. Takes 1-20 minutes, as long as it's not in terrible shape, depending on how sharp it is when you touch it up.
I wonder if using the rollers gives it more power like the cams on a compound bow? The more band you can pull the more power the sling shot has. I bet with bigger cams and a heavier duty band he could really crank up the speed of that arrow.
Pretty sure that there is a defined limit for the rate at which elastic contracts ... so, increasing the number of elastic bands may make only a minor difference to the speed of the projectile. What it WILL do is to allow you to shoot a heavier projectile.
Sharpest chisels in the west lol. 😎👍🏻👊🏻 Good stuff as per usual. Your stains are so beautiful. May I ask what line of stain you use? I would love to use it on the things I make out of wood.
Not going to lie this looks like a step-by-step tutorial on how to build weapons in the event of an apocalypse. Think about it with the exception of the power drill every other method of making this was with normal handheld tools. Almost as if to say if you don't have access to power tools or Electronics here's another way to make this.

Childish stuff. Grow up 🚴三
@@abhijitdas7808 👈jealous child
is this the reason the Chinese Communist Party banned UA-cam in China?🤭
very nice arrows you made. 👍
Child your daddy
Its funny that i acually made one of these in 6 grade with two empty pens and a rubber band … just to shoot pencils in the ceiling 😂
So THAT'S how they got up there! You're a legend.
Lol same
Lol I used to whip em too get em to stick too a lil harder but I got my fair share to stick 🤣🤣😂💀🔍

My teacher had a poofy fro. I use to launch little mini dart paper airplanes into it. It's amazing I was never ratted on. 😂👌
Beautiful design, you have made slingshot arrow launchers a viable tool. It's no longer the hand hole-puncher that they normally are.
I'd prefer to see the handle mounted in a bowling ball finger (3) configuration for both x/y force.

Thanks for the info!

1st Problem on that is Home Making a Goose 🤣🤣
You can raise them at Home
Respect to this man, he even put down a fresh lick of paint on the vice but his speed would make Clark Kent cry.
Using the bobbins, that's genius seriously!
Nice work. Love the sharpness of your chisels 💯
Thanks 👍
Love the design, I do however question bending over the "U-bolts".
I would use threaded ones
Could you show the chisels you made and a how to on the two handed spoke shave plane. Really good awareness of making it simple.

Cool, thanks!
Brilliant, dude! Really beautiful design! 😃
Fantastic work!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks! You too!
I would definitely convert this to a crossbow!

So this is a slingshot roller!,! Just amazing concept 👌👌👌👌

I like these types of videos. Glad that there’s fast forward!
Glad you enjoy it!
So cool :) and glad someone has skills with wood as i always mess up cause i don't know crap about the layers when trying to chip away at it
I will have to keep this in mind for when I get attacked by balloons. Thanks!

The video is fast forwarded to shorten so you watch the whole thing. Otherwise it would be 45 minutes long or more.
Someone needs a band saw
That vice looks ridiculous !!!!!!
I'm going to try making one of these. Very cool.
Uses safety gloves but when presented with work boots he said "nah, sandals for me. I ain't crazy."😁 Good use of hand tools cool video👍🏻
Great point!
why would he need work boots when he is using his hands?

The sewing machine bobbins was a surprise
Never saw anything that used them other than a sewing machine
Excelentísimo trabajo y fuerza

Those were my first thoughts too. Very strange choices of tools.
"Precision tools" 😄
Who cares what tools he used. When you build something on your UA-cam channel and post it, then you can critique you own selections of tools.
Que bueno. Buen trabajo 👏 👏👏👍
There's got to be a patent on these inventive slingshots👍
I just wish I had the equipment to keep my tools sharp like that I love that Chisel never seen one that wide

Clever design
Similar to the newish roller tip speargun , where the roller is like adding 1/3 (roundabout) extra bungy stretch to the gun
Bel progetto, ottimo lavoro !
Very creative, great work
Woow || sangat creative dan saya ingin mencoba membuatnya thanks
An amazing slingshot arrow device!
Awesome would never have thought of that.
Eres un verdadero genio en esto de las armas artesanales ...
Bloody beauty mate. Got to make one no now
Very well made 👍

Does anyone else get an ASMR from watching these, I'm hooked!
Put you a rail on it and get a red dot sight and you've got a really nice survival bow not to say that it isn't already great job.
Wow !
I love your work!
So stoked I stumbled upon your genius.🤩
Thank you so much 😀
Dude can run a chisel like nobodys business
That's one hell of a vice
Neat build!! Cheers
Thank you! Cheers!

Super cool man I want one ✌️
Super cool
👍😎 Dude…That is cool as hell.
Thanks 👍
For a second there, I was certain he was going use an angle grinder.
You can put soft jaws on your vice to be able to tighten it well without marking your piece
Parabéns excelente trabalho.
Obrigado 👍
I think that is the best slingshot design that I have seen yet great job Lovett
Yeah right, you expect me to raid the wife's sewing stuff?
NO WAY!
"что это у тебя ? Рогатка? а я думала,сова ! " :))))
How do you get an owl out of it when it said sling before the video started
Wouldn’t you need like a buffer? That “sling pouch” is gonna hit the metal tube pretty hard on some ssharp edges
I would Get rid of the tube completely and use a whisker biscuit on the front to cut down on drag and shoot fletched arrows.
Impressive,
Good 👍👍👍
AWESOME!!!
ОТЛИЧНАЯ РАБОТА!!!
you should add a wrist brace brother cool project
That's a nice lethal weapon You can make At home
This was awesome and has inspired me to make something similar, definitely subscribing, thanks.
