No wonder this guy has the singing chops. I hear stories about Chet Curtis (whose real name was Chester Kukiewicz). Chet appeared one of the most popular show in 50's called Teen Age Barn on WRGB in Albany, NY area, where they showcase top talent young people and Chet was one of them. Many people said he could have been a great singer, but his real call was doing the news. R.I.P. Chet
I remember once when Chet Curtis, who was married to Natalie Jacobson, got a ride in a Thunderbirds F-16 while they were at Hanscom Field for an airshow. When he landed he was interviewed and called the flight, "the most exhilarating experience in my entire life". When they switched back into the studio his wife Natalie was the anchor and she didn't look too pleased about his comment.
This is real television. Boston has nothing like this anymore, I thank God I lived through this era.
This brings back great memories of Boston tv. Great talent at that time. Gone forever I'm afraid. Thank you Eileen for showing us this.
Im glad I grew up watching these legends. These days there are no family stations. Just barbie dolls and models.
