Well, I've been in the FanFiction world for 13 years now, and since the beginning when we didn't have much information, we known that Marlene was part of the order and looked like a strong female, some of the fandom just assume that they could be a good ship and it stuck, it's almost canon for alot of us hahaha
In a letter to Sirius, Lily talks about her and her family, but considering that all the Mckinons were Aurors and older, it is obvious that she is referring to Marlene, since they knew her well. We all know that Sirius, in the words of his own friends, was someone very flirtatious so he probably never had a formal girlfriend but Marlene could be a love interest. Many love this ship, some not so much, especially those who have read wolfstar. A fanfic that talks about Sirius and Remus, although it is all fiction since Remus had a great love for Tonk, Sirius's favorite niece. Remus married Tonks and they had a son named Teddy.
It's beautiful, I would love to use it for my cover of the original version of " Wonderful life" by Black which has a special meaningfull memory to me!
