- The FSK tones activate the modulator sirens in Avalon, NJ for the noon whistle. The second set of DTMF tones are for a different city's sirens (I am not sure who's).

DTMF codes are the Whelens. The nearest city you are listening to their activations, they have whelen
Whelen has a special dtmf for whelen's that is very fast. So no, that most likely is not whelen dtmf. You can activate any type of siren with dtmf if it has a dtmf decoder
@@marylandsirensfirebuff9664 its possible
Those are modulators. You can activate any siren with DTMF.
@@CentralOHSirens depending on what radio it has, yes. Not all sirens are equipped with DTMF radios. Most sirens these days either have 10 digit DTMF radios or FSK radios
@Coalton Engleman Whelen's can technically be activated by FSK.
if you record that tone and play it back through that frequency bad things will happen
it will activate the chime lol thats also how the sirens in dallas got "hacked"
yeah and you can actually face law
@@gradientgamer5480 not likely
@@rock-afire-fan well its not easy to activate cuz most activations are encrypted
@@rock-afire-fan very likely
0:25 it looks like you are going to drop the scanner off the balcony
Nice, love the DTMF codes
Second pair of dtmf tones decoded are 146600 I think
@@RK-hw8oc Just played it over my repeater. Sounds like you are correct!
Fellow siren fan that is a furry 🫡
I have that EXCACT scanner.
Cool vid btw
thats not a scanner its a baofeng uv5-r uhf vhf transceiver. Unless your a licensed Amature radio operator its illegal btw.
You're right, and you're wrong... It is transceiver, but its not illegal to monitor non-encrypted communications. He could have the radio programmed to "receive only". However, if he is not properly licensed, then yes, transmitting would be illegal.
@@m4a1fa10 Exactly, but I do hear that they just updated the rules and now you can't own them anymore without having a license
I love DTMF tones
Great video! Just a quick question, I'm about to get a scanner myself, what frequency would I need to listen to in order to hear the activation tones for Avalon and/or Stone Harbor? Thank you!

I have a baofeng, what frequency do I need to listen to Allegheny county tones?
@@seanjuthis that the same for every area?
@@user-fo8sl3lt6w no. Every siren system has its own activation frequency/frequencies
@@user-fo8sl3lt6wno every area is a different frequency
That is not how Avalon's system works. The DTMF is sent out prior to the public siren, but the siren is not triggered via DTMF.
It's activated by the FSK at the beginning. The DTMF was for a different town's siren. If only you read the description.
0:26 time stamp for activation signal tone
I was watching this and right when it turned 12 o'clock the chimes in the video went off.
That's awesome. Is that automated or is someone manually keying them?
Ringway Manchester in some instances, siren systems can automatically activate apon receiving a certain code from the national weather service. In most instances the siren system is manual. But they don't have to turn on each siren individually.
no it wouldnt. You could even just hold your ptt button in and play this video into the mic of the radio and it would activate.
@@Steve211Ucdhihifvshi most of the activations are encrypted so it would be a little difficult
I wished I could have that
Love the intro
How do you find the frequencys where the tones are broadcasted to activate the sirens? I do have a scanner, and I can receive frequencies from 108-199 and 400-512. The scanner is a Uniden SR30C.
Usually, the sirens are activated by the city or county. I would (if your scanner is a dual band scanner, like the Boefang UV5R), have one frequency set to county fire or dispatch, the other, set to the city's fire frequency. As for finding the frequency, just look online. There are numerous sources which contain a list of identified frequencies within that city or county.
How awesome
1200 bd rate AFSK modulation data, some little tune, another AFSK data burst then DTMF tones
How do you use the professional fm transceiver for siren tests???
I wish I had one in my backyard💔💔
Had what
@@CentralOHSirens he means he wish he had a siren in his backyard or some thing
I’m saving up for a scanner like that
You might want to get something better. The one in the video is $35 at most
i am confusion
i swear i hear wistles in avalon all the time

Not just japan... In Norway too. Don't they have it in USA?
Where do I find a scanner that gives off the tone for siren activation
You can buy a radio (Ex: Baofeng Uv5R) and record the tones then play them back
I LIKE IT
Is there any way to decode the first tone?
how to you find those types of channels?
Westminster?
Nice Radio Matt! It looks very similar to mine.
I want one so bad!!
Ion know that much bout these dtmf tone receivers, do u have to program it to ur city or sum to listen to the tones for the sirens?
U need a code for that station and u enter it into the scanner. Then you'll get tones and whatever from them. I've got plenty on mine. Police, fire, everything.
how do you activate your town's sirens with one of those radios?? is it illigal?
No he doesn't activate the sirens with that! It is the Avalon fire department who sends tones and he just listens to them coming through the scanner on their frequency. If you plug in a frequency in a scanner, you will hear what it transmitts. That is what os going on here
He doesn't do it cuz he doesn't work for the county but yes its illegal to cuz thats how Dallas's sirens got hacked you can only do that if you work for the county like the EMA or something
Edit: you cant do it like that by the way so DON'T even try to do that unless you wanna get imprisoned
@@tsg931 what does imprisoned mean?
@@timofeykozyrev2447 could he make that siren go off again

@JuCeLoDE You're right. They're a pretty good way of getting in to amateur radio. 73 from M6YPE
@JuCeLoDE I wish you the best of luck in getting your license. Have fun out there.
What is the noon whistle?? Is it a bad thing ??
Nope. It goes off everyday at noon. Some city’s activate their tornado sirens for about 10 seconds for noon. It’s like church bells.
No you dumbass! Its just a siren test! Unless there were to be a legitimate emergency, then...yes! But in this case, no!
What frequency is it
How do you find the frequency of these tones?
Look up you local fire departement frequency

Hey I got some very huge question I got this same scanner like you have but how do I do to change frequency or channel to set this tones to listen to this before the siren activated? Like do you know how it works to listen the tones before siren goes off?
You punch in the frequency number. Simple as that. If that doesn't work, then I don't know what to tell you.
@@queencitysirens8755 Like after I code it I press the scan button with a asterisk on it?
@@adamssirenadventures6574 Nope, just punch in the frequency and it should work if you have the right frequency.
Sirens Of SW Ohio I just looked up radio reference then it shows the frequency codes over town, I chose fire dispatch that might work to send tones on it. Mine is Baofeng UV-5R.

Nice!
What exactly are noon blasts/whistles?
Siren tests at noon dumbass
Please tell me how I get siren activation tones!
Well you need a scanner and a frequency of the city you want to see the test or hear polling in. Once you plug that in, you should hear tones coming through. If you want the frequency for Avalon, then i can't help you with that. Sorry...unless you want me to look it up
Get a radio scanner to hear the polling and stuff for the emergency mass notification systems in your area
how do you get that intro!

Deactivation or "stopping" the current tone.
Your'e telling me that you are authorized?
what's that suppost to mean?
So that whatever thing turns Sirens on??
Trains ‘N Sirens it's a dtmf frequency transmitter designed to find the frequency of a dtmf tone
all you do is find the frequency of the sirens, They should be listed on a database, as every transmitting frequency needs to be recorded and allocated, You input those frequencies, (sometimes there is a transmit frequency and a receive frequencies) sometimes just one frequency. You input the code and listen. IF you were to play back those codes or use the keypad on the uv5r radio transceiver you would in effect trigger the siren. But, Unless your a licenced amateur radio operator you shouldn't even own one of these radios as they are capable of transmitting or interfering with a broad range of vhf and uhf frequencies. I use one of these in Australia (licensed operator) to trigger a remote information monitoring system.
Yes and the first tone is afsk (audio frequency shifting key)
I'm guessing that is a police scanner
Baofeng
You have that lucky
Any body knows the frequency for the sirens in Montgomery NY?
Look up the county in the FCC database
No go look it up or something
Westminster Chimes
i want a tutorial on how to do it
How to do what
@@CentralOHSirens Like, how to activate with these. (im not planning to activate)
@@PikaMatt07 you shouldn’t want to know how to activate sirens. that’s extremely suspicious. but the tones in the video are relayed in the radios on the sirens themselves so it activates them when it recieves those specific tones through the frequency that’s punched into the siren. (spccranford has the frequency that’s put into the sirens on his radio and that’s why you can hear what’s going to the sirens on his scanner)
@@CentralOHSirens this comment was 2 months ago anyways so im not really interested in sirens anymore

How do u listen to the tones for stuff like the Avalon sirens and stuff like that on a bofang radio like that?
Look on radioreference.com and find the frequencies for your area and then find like the emergency management frequency or the frequency of whoever might control the sirens in your area.
