We're currently in Nicaragua and we're planning to head over the border to Costa Rica in a couple of months.
Are things pretty strict in Nicaragua?
@@AdamVenturesTravel the only requirement is to have a negative test to enter the country. Other than that individual shops might ask you to wear a mask, wash your hands and have your temperature checked to enter, but that's it

How easy was it coming back into the US ?
Go to la fortuna and hot springs, Rio celeste. Isla tortuga, chirripo, volcán Poas, ghost hospital (sanatorio Durán) and irazu volcano. In San Jose go to barrio Escalante. Monteverde.

I would say its nice and quiet. good for a vacation, but if you like really nice places you might like Mexico more. Bigger country and more to pick from
Oh how sad. I trail-blazed Tamarindo with by friends for surfing in the early 80's when it was a quiet, peaceful surfer haven. This is hard to watch. We all felt this was going to happen. And it has.
That is too sad! I'm sure it would have been wonderful in the 80's when it was a peaceful surfing gem!

they are definitely more expensive. I actually just made a cost of living video that went live 1 hour ago! you can purchase 30 nights in advance for $450. otherwise $20 a night is the cheapest you can find in most places

Puerto Viejo if you are looking for a calm and relaxing time, Tamarindo if you want to party and be surrounded by tons of people
Me and a buddy will be there in late Feb and looking for a good place to stay in Guanacaste. Prefer a good balance of peace and quiet but close enough to walk to restaurants etc. any suggestions?
You might like the Playa Grande Pipe House. Its close enough to walk, and quiet most nights
you do have to take a short ferry ride tho to cross the river into Tamarindo

Playa Conchal and Play Flamingo I hear are really nice beaches if you are going to have a car. ATV tour, surf lessons, and I definitely recommend the Adventure Tour near Tamarindo that I made a Zipline video about!
I’ll be headed back soon! Comments below have given me some ideas like what is the Ghost Hospital and Santa Theresa Vortex? How far from Tamarindo? Gotta do some research now! 😎 Thks for sharing. And, was just told that the airport now offers COVID testing! Cost is about $70 and you get the results within 30 minutes!

Thank you for the great video, we will arrive 2nd December in Tamarindo and are interested in renting a house located at Playa Grande. Do you know if it’s a walking distance to Tamarindo beach? The plan is to surf in Tamarindo every day
It would probably be a 15 to 30 minute walk and a ferry ride, depending on how far away you are. So it's doable, but not super close

I was actually so frugal when I was there I never ate at a soda, only ate food I cooked at my hostel!

It was a few months ago that I was there now, but ya, when I left there were lots of backpackers and there was partying, but bars did close early... also, when I was there i think it was high season and now i think is low season, so there are probably less people now.

I was there 2 different times. One time I stayed in Selina Hostel, another time I stayed in Playa Grande Pipe hostel!
Can you tell me what/how the covid test was done prior to leaving costa rica? Thanks so much!
you can just google where to do depending on what city you are in. They you just show up (no reservation needed) get your test, pay $70ish USD (but this might vary depending on location) and the you get your results emailed to you in less than 72 hours! I got mine in around 12 hours. I hope that helps!

I came back from Tamarindo this week. The club I went to, called Pacifico, in downtown has no restrictions and was open till around 2. There is nightlife
Is Costa Rica dangerous ?
I always felt safe for the most part.
the only time i didn't feel safe was walking around a sketchy part of San Jose once... there you should be more careful, but I would say Costa Rica is pretty safe generally
