Thank you for clarifying the question about John the Baptist and his question to Jesus when he was in prison. I truly was bothered by it for years as I couldn't understand his sudden change in faith. Also, the fact that he was eventually beheaded still brings a degree of grief in me. I'm. still learning and asking God to continue to provide wisdom and knowledge as I learn the bible.
Late to the table but still fed. Thank you Pastor for your inspired teaching and encoureging words. GOD bless you and yours and a wonderful christmas to all .
13:50 if John never received the indwelling of Holy spirit then what does the bible mean when it says he was filled with the Holy spirit from the womb??? ( Luke 1:15 )
Indwelling is permanent and means we have received the forgiveness of sins. Filling is temporary and occurs as God desires, both before Jesus' death and resurrection and now.
The term "filled with the Holy Spirit" should not be confused with the indwelling Spirit. When you read that someone was "filled with the Holy Spirit" that is referring to the empowering work of the Spirit -- a work that was temporary and could be removed at any time as in the case of King Saul in the OT. But the indwelling Spirit that comes as a result of faith in Jesus is permanent and is NOT for empowering. It is for salvation that we might be born again.
@@PastorPaulLeBoutillier yes good answer another good example would be Psalm 51:11 KJV [11] Cast me not away from thy presence; And take not thy holy spirit from me. Clearly not a permanent position, as where this is. Ephesians 1:13 KJV [13] In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Btw im one of those people who just wanted to know the truth, i grew up with zero believers around me and i decided to see for myself and now im in a position where things have happened that i can't even tell anyone because I can't even get them to entertain the idea that the bible would be true. This channel and Pastor Charles Lawson are the ones i trust the most and usually listen to sermons on daily basis. Greetings from Finland and God bless.
