I still believe Itachi was being completely honest when talking about the clan's inability to think and look beyond the clan.
At that point he was sick and fed up with the Uchiha's arrogance because he knew the most likely ending to it
I mean cultures are pretty much the same as clans. In asian culture you basically do what your parents tell you til the day they die and by that point you're well beyond the point of brainwash. Most of them become doctors, dentists, or some other high paying job that doesn't make them happy. I live by many asian families and barely ever see any of them crack a smile.
Agreed. Though it also feels like to me he is trying to rile himself up by amplifying these negative feelings he has towards the clan, in order to be able to pull through with what he is about to do.

Of all the unbelievably 13-year-old 13-year-olds in Naruto, Itachi might be the least believably 13-year-old
(runner up goes to Kakashi, who looks identical in present day as he does in the nine tails flashbacks despite being 14)

I think you guys are forgetting what was said about the time period when Madara was alive. It was probably more than 100 years ago if he was alive during the time of the first Hokage...have you noticed how old was the 3rd Hokage?
Madara would be unnaturally old and may seem immortal then. That's why one of the frog said, it's impossible for Madara to be alive when the nine tailed attack. But apparently he is still ALIVE.
Hashirama and Tobirama were only a couple of decades older than Hiruzen, so Madara would be around 100 now.

2:48 & 3:19 damn, was it always this obvious and we just didn't notice it because we were kids? In my first watch, I suspected something deeper, but Aaron and Calvin literally got it word for word.
Maybe cause Naruto was one of the first long running shows we watched as kids so we didn’t have much exposure to such stories as these guys do now. Either way, it’s kind of freaky how well they’re predicting it when they get so much other stuff wrong.
Yes, kids are dumb and don't elaborate that much, but I was much wiser than other kids and I could predict Itachi's and Obito story. It's easier to predict Itachi's and Obito story than Madara Uchiha and space shit background, because the main villain was supoosed to be Madara. All the space shit was created after Kishimoto ran out of ideas. It's so fucking dumb, nobody could predict it.
the anime has also hints with repeating flashbacks unlike the manga, so grown people with tons of experiences with shows and anime like blind wave are very likely to get it correctly.
I remember people theorizing a lotta this stuff back when it was coming out, but i personally was a kid who didn’t think much about it

He is aupposed to be a calm and collected manipulator yet he gets instantly irritated about Shisui's death.....which he is not even guilty for
And of course forcing Sasuke to hate him and tell him to kill his best friend but later will be "oooh I actually wanted you to no fall into the uchiha curse of hatred"

@@VGInterviews The whole point is that you're supposed to see how many different sides to him there really were. He was devoted to everyone. And obviously, being accused of your friend's murder would upset most people.

We know he didn't kill Shisui and was actually able to speak to him and hear his last words, yea he wouldn't enjoy being suspected for his murder...after giving the worst alibi ever? But he knows they are actually trying to find justice for Shisui, which kinda dispproves the clan being selfish since they just want to find the truth even if that means suspecting the son of the head of the clan/chief, so why go after them like THEY are the bad guys? Just so you can look more evil to the audience becaaaaause.....?

Y'know looking back, Sasuke's side of the story is the best part of the story.

Okay that's just false because Naruto isn't the protagonist here. Sasuke has always been the Deuteragonist so his just playing his role here and Naruto is finding his for the majority of this streach.

His character in itself is not bad. It's the story around him that's really poorly told.
Like you say he was always alone and had no friends, but then go and say Shikamaru and Choji always hanged our with him. Or more they reveal about 3rd Hokage the more you realize how much of a asshole he was, despite story trying to paint him as a good guy.
Sasukes part of the story is just better writen.

Shikamaru and Choji canonically have never been Naruto's friends in his childhood, it's just filler the anime added.
Itachi is also portrayed as the good guy later despite how still messed up the whole Uchiha massacre plotline was even with the "truth". Hiruzen turning out to be not so good is a pretty great concept because as naruto grows, a person in power he looked up to turned out to be quite messed up. It's not as detailed as it could have been but neither is Itachi
The longest mystery would be the attack of the fox to the village, but then again, as audience we don't get suggestions that there was something mysterious about it until it was stated that each village was supposed to have their own tailed beast. Up to that point we could simply think that it just so happened that a demon attacked and that's it.
Did you forget where the Nine Tails inhabited first is where Konaha was built so in a way he was there before them

In a series with some very well written plots and characters, Itachi is the best IMO. So complex and layered, and with enough content and distance in strength to warrant how long this damn plotline takes to finish out. You get the answer to who Naruto’s parents are before why Itachi did what he did, for Pete’s sake.

The only thing I don't like about Itachi are his "hardcore fans". Also I wonder if all Uchiha's battles were like this, genjutsu over genjutsu and so on 😂
I would assume not because Itachi is well rounded in each category (genjutsu, taijutsu and ninjutsu) so I think it’s dependent on the fighter. For example, Sasuke’s ninjutsu and taijutsu are off the chart but in no way his genjutsu would stand against an Excellent user (At this period).
