The corn costume!!!!! I've been watching so many videos and hoping to see Izzy in her corn costume. She looks sooooooooo stinkin' happy! I love the corn costume. I was rooting for you guys to be vegetables that Halloween just because I wanted to see her corn costume. I love it!!!
It's super fun... but I could understand his reluctance. It is a little nerve wracking to go into stores, take photos of things, and then leave lol. But, we always have such a blast LOL.
Corn on the cob Christmas costume? I love kids so much! We still call a guitar a 'kitarr' since that is what our son asked for when he was a toddler. I'm not even sure he knew what a 'kitarr' was!
That's hilarious! I loved the crazy things kids come up with so much. We laugh every year thinking back on that silly corn on the cob costume. It totally made the whole year! LOL
Krystal - what a beautiful album! Thanks so much for sharing! Your work is wonderful, but I love hearing all your special celebrations and traditions your family has! And the Christmas Adam idea - fantastic! I may steal that idea for whenever we are out of Covid restrictions in the coming years - that is such a fantastic fun twist on a holiday party! Can’t wait to watch the 2019 video!
Love this album! Thanks for sharing! Lots of great ideas for me to think about for future projects! I love Frankenmuth.. hope to get there once things normalize again!
Thank you Heather! I'm so bummed to miss out on Frankenmuth this year. It's been a tradition ever since I was a kid... and online ornament shopping just isn't the same lol. Guess it will make going next year all the more special.
I really wish that when my kiddos were little we had cell phones with cameras and I even knew about scrapbooking (my kids were teenagers and allergic to cameras at the time lol. I sure would have loved to tell all the stories back then I am sure because I love everything about what you did and the Reindeer names card gave me all the feels. I have three DD's to finish up so I am not doing one this year and will use my PTO between Christmas and New Years to complete those...keeping my fingers crossed on that for sure! Oh and that CHristmas themed scavenger hunt idea and then take selfies is epic. I've been doing that randomly with no thought beforehand. I just take pics of Christmas decor or ornaments that I like lol. Thanks for sharing everything.
I love that you are using this year to finish up older albums. I think that's perfect! I'm definitely thankful for the cell phone camera we have today - they make this hobby so much easier. I couldn't imaging having to cart around a DLSR camera all day!
Wow. So many wonderful memories.... I wish l had of done this when my kids were younger but now they are really not interested, they would rather be out with their friends and at the beach... but l might do one for myself. Thank you for sharing..
Thank you Katheryn! I love creating these albums so much and capturing what life is like. I think it would be an awesome thing to make one for yourself. And even if your family wouldn't be interested in it now... they may be in the future years. I would LOVE looking through these of my Christmases growing up now as an adult. I hope my kids will feel the same way. PLUS, I love looking back through them year after year too.
Love seeing your style evolve. I' m a big fan of using what you have around. What a great idea to use the 12x12 page protector that way. Did you do anything special to keep the crease on the edge so nice? Like use a fuse tool. It seems like things would slide around but yours looks very secure. I just laughed with joy at Izzy in her corn costume! Thanks for sharing. Laurie O.
Thank you Laurie! For that 12x12 page that I used in the 6x8 album, I just used a bone folder to crease it super well. Over the years, it has also pressed the crease more too. That corn costume will go down in history as one of the best Santa gifts of all time. It makes me laugh just thinking about it and how excited she was for that gift. So funny!
You are such a fun mom! You plan so many fun activities! I think I'd be the type of mom who said the Elf on the Shelf broke their leg and couldn't move for 4 weeks. 🤣
HAHAHA! I love that so much - the elf broke her leg. So funny! I've seen a lot of parents putting their elf in a 2 week quarantine this year - also super funny.
Would love to hear more about your husbands great grandfather. My grandfather was a stone mason and also worked on the zoo fountain. I'm from Ann Arbor, but grandparents lived in Detroit.
That is so cool! I will have to ask my father in law more about his grandfather when I see him. He was the one who told us the story... but I don't remember much of it. I think it would be so crazy if our families knew each other back then!
your events and creativity are just so awesome, my favourite days, Christmas Adam event haha that is too funny. love your project, look forward to seeing your 2020 come together.
What a fun album! I loved when my kids were that little and we could do all kinds of fun things. So I have to say that I'm in awe of the fact that 2018 was your first DD year and 2020 your doing prep classes for Ali herself! How did you get onboard all of your design teams so quickly. When did you start scrapping? Sorry inquiries minds are curious. Lol!
LOL - when I really think back on my crafty journey over the last two years... I still can't even believe where I am! I used to scrapbook (the older traditional style) when I was in middle school/high school. But I really didn't get back into scrapbooking and documenting like I do now until the summer of 2018. I just dove all the way in and made scrapbooking a HUGE part of my daily life. I love it so, so much. And then, I made the commitment to share basically daily on IG for 2019 and 2020. It's been a lot of work, but it's also encouraged me to try new things, tell more stories, find my own style, and make a lot of friends in the process. I never would have believed that I would be where I'm at now two years ago... and I'm just so unbelievable grateful for the warm welcome this community had for me and the continued encouragement I get. It's amazing.
Enjoyed this walk through and your thought process for the stories told. It is always fun looking back through our albums and seeing how the styles change.
Same! I love looking back and seeing the creative growth/changes too. I loved looking back through this one and seeing the stories/memories and the photos of the kids when they were so little. ❤️❤️
Krystal, I've been following you for a couple months now and love your work. I want to scrape in the pocket pages, but I don't know what the best ones are to get. There are so my company's out there, can you suggest the best to purchase items for me who is just starting out.
Thank you so much Jan! I'm so excited that you are going to be working on a December album this year! It's my favorite project of the year. As for pocket pages, my favorites come from Ali Edwards. That's typically where I get my 6x8 and 3x8 sizes from. Hope that helps!
Thank you Pam! I definitely wouldn't let December start without flipping through my completed albums. I LOVED filming these because I had a reason to go back through and look at it all again. I love this project so much!
Right! There are some things that it has worked will with for me... but that Envelope at the beginning just didn't hold up. Now, I basically stitch the things that I worry about falling apart. Then, I know there won't be issues lol.
I’m exhausted from all the work YOU did! 😂 Glad I stayed to the end to see the costume.
I love Bronners! My mother in law and I go every year!
12 things! what a fun tradition! I like that idea. My hubby would never play along!
It's super fun... but I could understand his reluctance. It is a little nerve wracking to go into stores, take photos of things, and then leave lol. But, we always have such a blast LOL.

We love Frankenmuth!!!
Yes! Us too! I'm so sad we won't be able to go there this year.
Love it! Especially that front pocket!
Thank you! Putting a pocket on the inside worked out really well. It's a great way to store all of those cards from friends and family. ❤️
Thanks for sharing- you have so many great ideas and traditions!
Thank you! We like to keep things pretty busy and full of fun in December! But, it makes for a very memorable month LOL.

Thank you! You should totally steal the Christmas Adam idea when Covid is over. It is such a fun party that we all look forward to each year! ❤️
Love this album! Thanks for sharing! Lots of great ideas for me to think about for future projects! I love Frankenmuth.. hope to get there once things normalize again!

That was great Krystal! Thank you for sharing. 😀. I’ve yet to complete a DD but I keep trying 😀
Even an incomplete DD is still awesome! Any stories told make it totally worth it and I'm so glad you keep trying ❤️.

I make 1 every year and my family really doesn't care. So , I keep trying and making one this year but will not spend alot like in previous years.
Thank you Katheryn! I love creating these albums so much and capturing what life is like. I think it would be an awesome thing to make one for yourself. Thank you Donna! We love Christmas Adam too - We love that the title is very tongue-in-cheek as well. It makes us giggle every year.
I loved the flip through. Christmas Adam is hilarious. I always enjoy a good pun :) and that's an awesome one.
I love the puns too! We giggle every time we explain the annual party to people. It's the best.
Such wonderful memories !
Thank you Susan! ❤️

I was hoping you would do a flip through of previous DD's
You do some really fun things, great ideas.
Thank you Pam! I definitely wouldn't let December start without flipping through my completed albums. I LOVED filming these because I had a reason to go back through and look at it all again. I love this project so much!
Red tape is so expensive and really is not worth the price all my mini books are falling apart.
